Lessee yer Ultimate Optimus Prime base modes- some pics!

Has anyone come up with a base mode for Ultimate Optimus Prime's trailer? I saw someone on the boards that had one, I'd like to see if anyone else has tried it. I feel this is a modern-Bay version (see what I did there?) of G1 Powermaster Optimus Prime, since it has a base robot and powered-up robot. No official base mode like PMOP, so that's where we'll have to get creative.

I just got mine (yay!), and that's one of the first things I tried. No pics yet, I'll need my good camera for this, but I did end up with something base-like.

EDIT- OK, couldn't find the good camera, we were on a long weekend trip and it's still packed away someplace, so I humbly offer you some crappy cellphone pics:

The BFG stil attaches to the hands, as in super robot mode. It's kinda resting on the leg panels. The last pic is Prime's armory, but it just occurred to me that you can stand up the long panels w/ the weapons stored on them too, FWIW.

I always wondered id the Ultimate Optimus had a a base mode since i saw the him and and read this:
http://www.seibertron.com/transformers/ ... ase/22361/

TRANSFORMERS: DARK OF THE MOON SPECIAL EDITION ULTIMATE OPTIMUS PRIME FIGURE
(Ages: 5 & up; Approximate Retail Price: $79.99)
Fans will have their first chance to get their hands on the new TRANSFORMERS MECHTECH ULTIMATE OPTIMUS PRIME action figure at Comic-Con, with a special edition foil-wrapped, slide-out package and customizable sticker sheet. This special edition ULTIMATE OPTIMUS PRIME will be the only way to get the figure displayed in vehicle and trailer mode; the trailer doubles as a weapons arsenal and is an integral part of the figure's converting play pattern. The MECHTECH ULTIMATE OPTIMUS PRIME figure features lights, launching projectiles, electronic battle sounds and phrases and three modes of conversion – vehicle, robot, and robot with "mech suit." The trailer, which serves as a weapons depot and command center, also converts into a "mech suit" that OPTIMUS PRIME shows off when it's time to rumble.

Was going through my old posts looking for a specific thread and this caught my eye. You added the pics and didn't bump the thread, my first time seeing your base mode. It looks cool, really cool.
I wonder what it would look like next to the Cyberverse Ark and a bunch of Legends class(or mini-con) figures. That's got some serious potential as a battle station.

Are the panels jointed so they can push the base off the ground a little bit?
Or does it have to lay flat?

I was playing around with Armada Galvatron the other day and he makes a pretty good BS for Legends figures too

LOL, I got my UOP into truck and trailer mode and never bothered to transform him ever again. This doesn't look bad though. Nice work.

Looking more closely, it appears that the long arms of the V-shape, where OP is standing, can't bend downward. It's been a while since I had him in this setup, I'll have to look again.

Here are a couple more pics I took a while back, just found them again:

Nice pix, but it makes me think of some type of "Gynecology" Optimus Prime variant.

My Ultimate OP either stays in alt mode, or as a crazy butterfly-mech.

I kind of liked this idea and wanted to try it myself and create the following which is basically an anti-aircraft weapon platform type of base for op to sit it. It even has a cockpit and control panel! The first shows the base without OP inside and the last is with him behind the gunnery controls. Sadly the file limits here prevent a good attachment.

I came up way back of a base mode of some sort.

I would have post a picture but Photobucket is going anal on me right now.

The picture will re-appear in a few weeks I guess...

I'd like to see the pics on that one Kanrabat. The trailer has so many possibilities I am surprised they did not include some form of base mode in the instructions. Maybe Hasbro should include a place on their site for fan modes where they can submit them to be possibly added on the web content as "official".

It was for a thread about comparing the classic and very awesome G1 God Ginrai to the very good (but then overpriced) Ultimate Optimus Prime.

Warning, the "base mode" is kinda half-assed. I should make a better one later:

And while I'm at it, here's the other pictures for comparing the two titants:

Sigh...

Oh now you've done it, a super cannon! Slag, I want to keep mine sealed, but all these modes make me want to open him up.

Cool ideas, guys! The thing I'm wrestling with now is whether to cut up the trailer to make the mechsuit more articulated, or keep it for its base modes, which appear to be many and varied.

Just realized that's a strange thing to say, having created this thread. *shrug*

I say you get another one to dismantle. if the super mode was more articulated he would have been far more desired.

Many people seemed to hate this Prime but I thought it was one of the most fun ones I owned. I think had they added a base mode that it would have sold more.

I bought my first one 130$ last August because I couldn't wait.
Oh well...
I gave him that human alliance basic figure that make a very GREAT gun for OP, and I drilled a hole in his hand to make Fireburst OP's ax fit.
TF MG_0768.jpg

By keeping yours sealed, you are doing yourself a great disservice. Hell, by keeping ANY sealed toys, you just don't LIVE! Just open it up and have fun!

Well, nothing stop you for buying a SECOND one to keep it sealed. If I see a big sale and I like the figure enough, I'll but it again to keep it sealed.

The only TF I keep sealed without having doubles are my 3 2007 movie battle scenes because they just look soo good as is, and Beast War Neo Randy because I fear he'll crumble in my hands due to GPS.

Seriously, dude, just open UOP up. Even if he's a brick, he's a fun and beautiful brick. I bet you can find another one easy for sale somewhere.
I got my second UOP for only 50$+tax! :3

Well I bought mine when it first came out because I wanted to keep it sealed and I didn't want one with beat up cardboard or plastic. I'm waiting, I guess, until I find one loose and complete for a real good price. ;)

When it comes to opening everything I just can't do it. I can usually open the Legends(I have an unhealthy love for them), but anything larger I have to have a deep feeling I won't want to sell it off sometime later. And while I've opened to majority of DOTM Legends, my ROTF are mainly sealed. I also tend to open Classics stuff, but it took until I realized I had 3 Wheeljacks to finally open one(only because I kept finding him for like 6 bucks).

With so many other toys open I keep myself occupied, like turning Energon Insecticon into a tank

I would love to see a group of these creep up on UOP base mode "Pew Pew!"

Wait... What?! How?! Why?!

Man, it's like if I ordered the most delicious pizza ever, get it, pay for it, and just set the box in front of me without opening it. I can smell the delicious peperoni, the greasy cheese is calling me, the warmth of that marvelous pizza just going through the box, begging me to eat it. Yet here I remain, refusing to eat it, chosing to just stare at the box, mouth watering, and starving.

I can understan keeping some transformers sealed... But ALL of them?! That's just wrong. That new smell when you open a box. That feel of hig quality plastic or diecast under your fingers. Transforming and fiddling with that beautiful and well designed work of art. Caressing the soft and sexy curves of these vehicles and robots. That pleasure of activating the gimmicks or putting them in cool poses. That shiver down your spine when you aply decals on a G1 toy. That feel when saving money, buying it, waiting for it, recieving it, and opening a very expensive Masterpiece Transformers, finally fiddling with the damn thing for once.

Your Transformers need to be loved.
FREE THEM FROM THEIR PLASTIC PRISONS!
Trust me, you'll feel good doing so.

If only I had enough room to display it all. I'd love to regain some closet space.
Sometimes I have to open a box just to remember what is where

and I'm like Oh yeah, that! (Don't worry, I have a G2 Dreadwing, so I know it's an awesome toy.)

I am actually amazed at the creativity people have. With no modifications and no changes to the toy, the people in this thread have created some nice alt modes. I wonder what other gems people could come up with on other TF's and if Hasbro would not mind taking a look at them since it would not incur additional costs? It is not like they have not done it before. Remember R.I.D. Galvatron - he originally had 6 modes in the Megatron mold but they changed his colors and "discovered" 4 other ones.
