So I got Powerglide, the red one. Very happy with it an so forth.

He's got his funky little missilelauncher, which is too long to sit under his cockpit in jetmode...
How did you guys solve this?

i threw the missile away, painted the gun, and turned it around. its gotta be the stupidest design for a gun i have ever seen.

What exactly is the problem? Doesn't it have the same gun as the original grey one?

Is the problem caused by the nose being too close to the ground?

No, not exactly. The missile is too long to properly store underneath the cockpit. It can't be aligned straight underneath, because the red/blue tab is in the way. Now I place it at a slight angle, which looks stupid IMO. If I turn it around, it's still too long.

Also the landing gear seems to be too short when the launcher is attached.

My solution: keep him in robot mode. ;)

I just recently one too and noticed those same problem. Rather than throw the missile away I just put it away. I don't use the weapon in vehicle mode either. But you are right though, they should have designed the landing gears to be longer if the gun was intended to be used in vehicle mode.

The landing gear at the back on the wings is at the wrong angle and pushes the nose down unless you angle the front of the wings down. This way the nose landing gear is not too short. It's a poor design.

Yes, I noticed yesterday that the missile gets in the way. I've never put the missile in during jet mode before. Best to store it somewhere else. I think its main reason for being is so that he has a night-stick type weapon in bot mode.

It's nice to know that mine isn't wacky. Everyone's is wacky.

Thanks for the feedback, people.

I think the gun issue can be forgiven because of his heart!!

Proof that someone at Hasbro/Takara has a soul.

I'm just hoping that Anthony Keidis and The Dude/Chick from Stargate make a love connection on here! :D

I have both the original and red Powerglides. I bought the original before they came out with the red one. Then they came out with the red one, and I was annoied. Then I saw the red one on clearance, and got happy.

Anyway, having the both of them gave me the opertunity to do some parts swapping. I thought they might look better if I swapped the clear plastic parts between the two of them. Everyone may not agree, but I rather like how they look.

Here's the red one:

And, while I don't keep him on display, here's the original one:

I may eventually get the Reprolables "Hothouse" sticker set for him and return him to display.

Which is how mine's stands on the shelf. Mini-gun in one hand, billy club in the other.

I got the Red powerglide when he was first released from Takara, alongside the Onslaught and Silverbolt figures. I picked up the white one on clearance and got the Reprolabels to turn him into Micromaster Hothouse after he failed to fit in as SG Powerglide.

My Hothouse is the one with the gun/club weapon. Powerglide still wields the missile launcher
