CLASSICS Cyberverse: Could it happen? Want it to happen?

Hear me out.

As I'm messing around with some RTS Legends, a thought pops into my head: Wouldn't it be great if there was an extended Cyberverse line of Classics Transformers?

Good. I can see you nodding your head.

And in thinking about Cyberverse Shockwave and Ark playsets, I had a better thought: Wouldn't it be great if the base was Metroplex. Or Overlord, or...

And then I had yet another thought, Hasbro's already one step ahead of me: In Botcon 2010, they said they wanted to find a way to do WFC Trypticon justice, but didn't have a place for him, yet!

Folks, the Cyberverse line is a perfect fit for Trypticon and other Neo-G1 Transformers bases like Omega Supreme. This could easily happen, and Hasbro may not admit it, but we can assume they've talked about it already.

Right now we know that the Cyberverse line will continue post-DOTM and into the start of Transformers Prime. Hasbro plans to keep this line going. But will it survive like the Classics line, or disappear like PCC? We can only guess.

Hopefully it will continue beyond the Spring 2012 reset and into next Summer, where we can expect Part IV of the Classics line. Here's to hoping for Classics Metroplex, Omega Supreme, Trypticon, Scorponok, Fort max and any other non-U.S. characters I might forgetImage

Rumors floating around all the high volume popular TF sites/message boards. hints that the Dotm toy line won't be around for that long.

some TF internet fans are GUEESING that the DOTM toy line stops making new molds in february 2012. some fans are guessing the DOTM toy line is gonna be pumping out repaints like crazy in 2012.

My GUESSES are if we see any new molds for the dotm toy line they'd be all the super tiny TF sizes like legends, scouts, commanders & cyber-verse.

I just don't see hasbro nor takara in 2012 creating any huge base transformers that are bigger than voyagers/leaders/supremes & can accomodate the DOTM legends & scout/commanders sized TF toys.

I would love to see Commander- and Legion-class Classic/Universe/Generations figures and playsets. I would buy them all.

How about playset remakes of G1 Ratchet and Ironhide? That would be cool.

If it were the only way to get updates on the citybots, then sure. If there were a better/larger way, I'd prefer that be explored first. Ultimately both would be best IMO.

I'd never buy it. I really dislike that size class. It discards so much of the engineering advances in the past few years and I will not buy inferior versions of already great toys.

Do you think they would make a base Transformer for War For Cybertron 2? As far as we know, WFC2 is still happening, Hasbro would make a toyline to support it, and we know they've talked about making a Trypticon at Botcon 2010.

Ultimate class would be perfect, but I think Cyberverse is probably the most realistic chance of us seeing an update to Omega Supreme. It seems like something that's going to stick around for a bit, and it just seems like such an appropriate place for a city Transformer.

If the ark sells well, that might encourages Hasbro to invest more on this kind of play set. Does it sell well?

I haven't seen stores without it and I don't see many on the shelf at one time, so I think it probably sells ok.

I have to say that the packaging is as boring as it could possibly be. If I didn't know what it was, I would never give it another look.

I feel the same for all of the movie product. It just does nothing for me. The only reason I own the 3 Cyberverse commander figures I own are because I'm informed. That packaging certainly didn't sell me in any way. I think the last time US packaging actually attracted me to product was for the first run of Classics. Maybe Animated? It's just dull and lifeless to me. For Classics, I'd want something a little more vibrant than navy blue.

I actually liked the Cybertron packaging. Armada and RiD was nice but not durable at all.

If Hasbro were thinking about Trypticon i dont think i could be arsed for base modes now keep that with G1,
i would like to see a fantastic homage with a robot mode nice and simple so all the effort goes into character design and not waisted on trying to get three crap modes.

I don't buy Cyberverse figures. In fact, I don't buy figures smaller than deluxe. Too small.

I would much rather they do a large, highly detailed Trypticon in a Supreme class size and give him one cool alt mode. Same with Metroplex.

G1 Trypticon already is pretty much a supreme.

I'd really go for a Generations Trypticon playset, maybe with a teeny-tiny Galvatron and wee sweeps.

That sounds cool. But I was thinking they would use a Full-Tilt, particularly since the Ark used Roller.

Sir,if that would happen,i'd be jumping up & down for joy,i'd buy 3 WFC Leader sized trypticon toys.

Well, Id'e be in this boat, deep down the river, and over the waterfall too, because I own like what, 2 or 3 classics figs tops? Cyberverse classics would be a good way for me to keep up, but the regular classics come and go WAY to fast! I mean, Sergeant Kup was on sale for like a month....and that was it, but that's just the area I live. Generations and classics are and always have been scarce.

I think it's a great idea, and Hasbro should listen. It would be barely anything more then a retool of some parts to make Metroplex, Trypticon, Skorpinok, or... gasp Fortress Maximus into a Cyberverse city playset.

It's the ultimate toy, it allows kids to have a playset that transforms into a full size robot figure, but then the smaller line would and could act as city citizens and even weapons holders, or look outs.

The more I think about it, the more it makes sense. I'd dive straight into a classic's Cyberverse world. You could even eventually make a classic's Ark, or maybe even repaint and release Primus into Cybertron. There's so many options.

It's almost be like a RID v2, Commander class Ultra Magnus carrying Hot rod and kup on back.

Then hasbro could potentially make new characters, How about Autobot City? transforms from modern city to Autobot strong hold, includes Special edition Blaster cyberverse figure.

Want it to happen? Eh, why not.
Could it happen? I doubt it VERY highly. Cyberverse looks to me like a mainline only kind of sub-line, so I suspect it will only carry over to the Prime series and whatever non-classics new line comes after... assuming Prime ever goes away...

Personally i'd prefer new molds for the 4 city formers. as most of them were lacking in poseability, sculpt, design & high lights colors.

Agreed. I already own the deluxe-sized classics from 1.0 - generations, and if they continued classics in ledgends size, the scale would be way off. But for the bases, it seems like a cool idea. I was always hoping for a remake of trpticon and fort max. :D

Funny how much people seem to love Trypticonn in all his motorized brickyness.

I wouldn't want playsets and legendsized toy to take over the Generations-line, just a set or two would be awesome.

The 84-86 Autobot cars in Scout or Commander size (I'd love to see proper Scouts make a comeback) would help me out with my scaling issues. My larger scale Classics shelves are Autobot dominated while my smaller scale stuff is predominantly Decepticons (mainly due to obscene numbers of Seekers, 6 Acidstorms anybody?).

Now that's not a bad idea really. Make a Leader class Metroplex, Trypticon, Omega Supreme, Scorponok, Fort Max w/ legend sized TFs. When I owned a Fort Max I bought WST because they were in better scale w/ him. To use the current Classics w/ a scaled city-bot would make the city quite massive.

I'd love to have the Ark repainted in G1 orange.
