Classics Targetmasters... why so few?

So, I'm a huge fan of Targetmasters. Headmasters/Powermasters are neat too, but I've always liked the little guys that turned into guns. That's why the Armada Mini-cons that turned into the Star Saber, Requiem Blaster, and Skyboom Shield were always my favorites (also, Super-con Prime's little gun buddy... Overrun or something...). Recently, I wanted to make Scourge a Targetmaster partner to be Fracas, so I re-purposed and modifed PCC Chainclaw to that end. Just today, I did the same with PCC Pinpoint to be the Firebolt for my BiS Rodimus. (You can see pictures of that project here: bis-rodimus-my-targetmaster-upgrade-p1290529.php#p1290529)

This brings me to my question: within the official Hasbro/Takara releases, is Cyclonus with Nightstick the only Classics verse "Master" figure? I know that Takara is doing a "Stepper/Artfire" or whatever he's called release of "Richochet" repainted from Jazz with a re-paint of Nightstick, but do you guys think we'll see him in North America? Do you think there is any real possibility of other Target-Head-or-Powermaster figures not including PCCs?

Thanks,

The reason as I see it is that cost-wise, it costs a bunch more money to make a targetmaster than a regular weapon for a figure. Cyclonus, for all of his awesomeness, had a lot less mass to him than other Transformers of his scale (corollary Hound was slightly smaller too due to Ravage). It's the same theory that may be the PCC were only scout-sized figures to accommodate their weapons (although that doesn't explain the PCC gestalts).

from a modern day standpoint; kids don't really know about Targetmasters, so I suppose that Hasbro doesn't feel the need to push the gimmick anymore.

As an aside, if you really want targetmasters, I'd suggest keeping an eye open for more on this news story that may be precisely what you want.

What about PinPointer from the HA Basics line? Actually, Pretty much all the HA Basics figures kinda turn into guns and such, but I mean the Little one that comes with Tailpipe.

I've seen the Mastershooter figs before. They are pretty cool, and would be my first choice if I wasn't.... well, frugal.

I picked up Leadfoot with Pinpoint for $5 at Superstore on clearance, so I came out pretty good there. Leadfoot can fill in as my Classics Wheelie, and Rodimus gets a Targetmaster that matches his colour scheme. Perfect!

I can understand the cost issue... it's just too bad though, as I would really like to see more Masters figures. I know there was a Universe Hardhead, but it's not the same without the transforming head! Not to mention Chromedome and the rest of them...

i really want a Chromedome and a Highbrow to go with Hardhead. there was a photoshop of rodimus into Chromedome which looked really good, maybe KOToys is on it, i dunno. I was really disappointed when i saw what the Highbrow we were getting looked like. While its a cool toy, it isn't Highbrow.

dont you know about Universe Hardhead + Headrobots Hothead? pure sex for a Headmasters fan
