Defective Classics Red Alert

Hi! I just recently opened up my classics Red Alert, and I'm pretty sure it's defective, but I wanted to double-check that no one else had this issue.

There's something wrong with the jet-pack/external engine piece (seen here http://www.tfw2005.com/transformers-images/toys/images/129378-2/Classics+Sunstreaker+Car+6.jpg).

It should be a black center piece with two smaller grey squares that fold down. I've compared it to my Sideswipe, and his has two grey squares that are mirror images of each other, one for the left and one for the right. My Red Alert on the other hand has two identical pieces that fit onto the left side of the central black piece, and no piece that fits properly onto the right.

Is this a problem with all of the Red Alert toys, or was mine assembled incorrectly?

(I'm sorry if that was unclear, I'm at University right now and I left my Red Alert at home so I can't take pictures)

From what I'm aware of, no that's not a common problem with Generations Red Alert. On the other hand though, I'm not sure how big of an issue that would be to most people, given that it's rather a superfluous accessory that can't store anywhere in robot mode, and just plain looks wrong with the lightbar in vehicle mode. Personally I just keep his (and Sideswipe's) supercharger in a drawer with other unused accessories.

Sounds like a factory error.

It can attach to the pistol. But yeah, it's still lame.

I did the same thing, except I gave Sunstreaker the silver painted version that came with Sideswipe and tossed the plain gray plastic junkers in the storage tote.

Which 2 pieces you got? i got 2 lefts for sunstreaker ... wanna trade? lol.

*Edit* Oh, i see you got 2 lefts too... Try taking it back to the store? i just give SS the "correct" backpack, and get red alert to live without his.

Sounds like an assembly error, but nothing for you to worry about. It's put in by default, even if the original G1 Red Alert never had one. Call it a relic from the Sunstreaker version, and once you find one with two right intakes, swap and sell both on Ebay

Thanks for all the info :)
I just stuck it in the jar of pointless accessories.
