Sharky of
Ozformers made an interesting discovery at a Toys"R"Us in Campbelltown, Australia. The Transformers DOTM Streetside Bot Brawl set featuring three of the mysterious repaints that have been showing up on various auctions and toy forums. The set includes the
Voyager Optimus Prime repaint with Deluxe Laserbeaks's MechTech weapons, the
Galvatron-ish Voyager Shockwave repaint, and a Deluxe Bumblebee repaint featuring orange translucent plasitcs, battle damage paint apps, and the MechTech weapon from Deluxe Skids.
Our own
Cyberseven snapped an
image of the shelf tag at TRU. According to the article on Ozformers the product code is #34074 which matches the "TF3 Voyager Deluxe Pack" priced at $49.99.
Check out the images mirrored below.

Wow, I don't think I could be any more disappointed. As a set or alone, none of those are worth buying.

From left to right. This DOTM Prime is almost the worst mold and we still have enough of him as shelfwarmer out there. This Shockwave's repaint is awful. Do we want any Bumblebee? He is already everywhere. Good move Hasbro, at least you put them in TRU which is a store I gave up visiting now.

I wonder if they used a picture of the Chicago battle for the background, hard to tell.
Honestly, I get this is one of those sets that are supposed to tie in with the holidays and the home video release, but I have this feeling should be like a value pack where you are get 2 voyagers and a deluxe for the price of just the two voyagers, but you know TRU is somehow going to make it cost more than the price of those individually. I'm going to ballpark the U.S. price at being $55-$60.

Well. I'm glad SOMEBODY got an upgrade to Galvatron. Rahahahah. (Still can't believe Bay wasted a chance to use Nimoy to voice Galvatron.

) But yeah, I can't imagine anyone getting this except for Shockwave fans who want this SLIGHT repaint.
Why no drastic repaints like in RID or Armada, etc. Upgrades from bright blue sportscar to bright red.... white to blue police car... The movie repaints are all so slight you can't tell them apart. And for fans like me, who weren't too excited about the movie... I got my ONE movie prime and bumblebee and I'm pretty happy calling it done.
Seriously, you've got the entire spectrum of color — not to mention 25 years of characters (Ultra Magnus, Nemesis Prime/Nucleon Quest Convoy, BAPE Prime, Shattered Glass Prime, Diaclone Convoy, Sleep Mode Convoy, Shining Convoy, that orange Powermaster whats-his-name....oh yeah, friggin G1 colored with no flames. I'd buy that.
Get out the ole Pantone book, close your eyes, and poke at a different color.

You know what, I read that wrong

, I thought that was the price in the land down under. I guess I'm just at the point where I assume TRU is naturally going to mark up the prices here.

Already have Shockers, don't like the Prime figure, and I've had my fill of Bumblebee for some time. EASY pass.

wow a TRU exclusive thats not over priced, youd be paying the same ammount as if you bought them all individually, im sure thatll change eventually. I think we've just seen the new shelf warmer, prime & bumblebee are already doing that and they're horrible to begin with and shockwave is just ugly.

awhhh ... look at the cute little shelf-warmer.
Hasbro .. I would not, could not buy that Optimus prime..
Would not, could not with a terrible repaint of shockwave and bumblebee anytime...
If youre trying to sell that sorry excuse for an optimus piece of crap..
Then give us the remolded one with a trailer and thats a wrap....
Seriously though .. I know little kids will want to buy it because its got BUMBLEBEEOMGWOWAMAZING and OPTIMUSPRIMETHEBIGGESTMASSMURDEREREVER and some big purple cyclops they have no back history on.. but I dont even thin parents will buy that for $50. Yeah .. its a DECENT (not AMAZING mind you) deal ... but seriously though ... theres enough of these 3 separate shelf warming or starting to go on clearance at some place ..... GIVE US NEW **** HASBRO

Gaah! More Bumblebee repaints.
But damn if we get seekers which would be easy to do (no, gotta import Skywarp)
On a side note, why don't they sell just packs of mech tech weapons. Considering it's such a large aspect of this line, it would make sense. I would love to buy extra weapons.

Hear Hear! I can't believe toy lines went by without releasing an entire set of seekers in the same mold. Masterpiece, Animated, Cybertron... not to mention War for Cybertron... NO SEEKERS! Blasphemy. Don't they know I'd buy nine of them and sing their praises? (original six plus sunstorm, acid storm and a purple clone).

In total agreement here. I wish they'd issue a set of Headmasters, Targetmasters, Minicons, Casseticons... whatever the current gimmick is. They could include a big figure if they needed to, but it should be an awesome power-up upgrade set of doom.
Heck, I'd STILL buy any of those. Dead serious.

I have 2 responses to this post.
1st I am glad someone found out what figures were in the TRU Voyager deluxe set I snapped and posted a price marker for.
2nd I am seriously disappointed in this set of figures. Nothing desirable or interesting about packaging repaints of these 3 characters. For F***K sake, you would figure Toys R Us would know better then this. Hasbro just milked them for a S**T load of money and shelf warmers without even having to give them an exclusive character mold.
Oh well....On to the next wave.

You're one in a million.

I'll have to take a good look at Shockwave to see which I prefer: the all purple regular version, or the grey and purple. Which is more more accurate (I hear you guys snorting there)?

I always felt that the toys may have hints regarding unused plans for the movie itself. Considering the title, I think that the option of having a space battle or on the Moon itself may have been in a draft of the script. With that, I think that would have explained why the vehicle modes of a number of DOTM Autobots had solar panels and the like. Prime himself looks like he would have modified his truck form in order to accommodate rocket flight (his original MechTech weapon).
Looking at this pack, though I think I would rather pick up Laserbeak, since I like his characterization in the film. Lazerbeak's weapons do make for a good analogue to Prime's guns, but it would have been nice if posts were molded on the sides of the guns, so they can be mounted on a vehicle like Prime's truck form instead of sticking out sideways.
