The tabs near the mouth don't fit or rest comfortably in the holes they are supposed to. I have tried multiple times to get it right. Do you guys have this issue?

I don't have either of the newer versions but oddly enough my Armada one have always had the same issue but the later Energon one does not. Weird...

I've had this problem before. Yes, I said "have had". It's a basic alignment problem from folding the figure in half, and it stems from the pegs on the legs plugging into the holes on his back. You really need to push them all the way in, that will level the heels with the planet halves. Even then you may need to twist the feet a bit to get everything properly lined up.

Mind you, chances are you will get stress marks on the plastic. I know I did.

All three versions I have, Armada, Takara 2010, and Amazon, have that issue. It doesn't bother me too much, hardly noticeable unless your just looking for it.

Noticeable for me especially when I use the teeth gimmick. I'll try and mess with it more tonite and try to get the pegs correct.

On a side note, anyone know where I can get a good stand for planet mode without breaking the bank?

Not sure what you consider breaking the bank but the Throne of Chaos is an excellent stand and the only one I know of currently for Unicron. It is $34.99 and worth every penny. It can be found at BBTS.
