Who else has noticed and is pissed that we felt lucky to get 1st wave hard to find HA Roadbuster, and now see that 2nd wave released with better looking number paint apps...

I actually like the new paint, more realistic.

I like it better too, but I am pissed now that if I want the better paint job, I have to get another $30 Roadbuster. I open all my figures, so I can't buy the new one and pull the old switch-r-oo return and exchange.

with bumblebees being thrown in every case assortment of a ratio of 3 bumblebee & one other figure,will anyone of us even see roadbusters on the shelf??

About the only chance any of us will have of seeing the new colored roadbuster on shelves. is when soundwave & roadbuaster are only in the case assortment wave & bumblebee finally gets kicked out of the assortment wave. I suspect even then they'll be a weird .5 case assortment revision that has bumblebee thrown back into the case assortment. hopefully soundwave comes out at christmas season with the newer colored roadbuster cuz stores over stock on stuff during christmas. if both roadbuster & soundwave come out in january then this thing will be super hard to find.

I had to order 4 roadbusters & spend over $75 from TRU.com just to get free shipping. I sold the other 2 on ebay.

BTW,You can always return the ugly color you don't like & get the newer better color you do like.

I just got the new one but I didn't realize there was anything different about it.

you should change the heading to "HA Roadbuster Varient found" And watch it be front paged. maybe, IDK How the mods think, but you never know...

maybe its a japan version that got thrown in by accident as theyve got fewer paint apps (at least on leadfoot)? mine is a first release and it has the paint with the white border.

Nope! Bought original with "rounded" inaccurate numbers which is now in 'bot mode; 2nd version with legit numbers for car mode. More squared numbers are the licensed Dale Earnhardt Jr numbers used on the real racecar.

No, I'm pissed because I've never even seen him in stores!

When I do see him, I'll be looking at those numbers though. Thanks for the heads-up. Hopefully I find the 2nd version.

I found the "second" version at Target this past weekend, and they had two of them.

That's kind of a stupid comment, especially from someone like you. If "it's just painted numbers on a plastic toy", then Transformers are "just plastic toys". If that's really ALL they were, none of us would be collecting them, spending hundreds or thousands of dollars on them, going to conventions every year, or spending time here discussing them. The fact is, to us collectors, they're NOT "just plastic toys", they're much more than that. We're passionate about our hobby, and that passion extends to details like the paint jobs and decals. To dismiss the importance of details like paint jobs is to dismiss the entire hobby. If they're just plastic toys to you, why are you here?

I am here because I enjoy them. They do hold significance from my childhood. However at the end of the day, they are just plastic toys (sometimes die-cast) that will still be around when we are all gone. Not dismissing the hobby or the OP, just saying that it's a minor change and I find it wierd that it's something to get pissed about.

the reason the repaint was done was the stringent specs of Nascar regarding car paint apps and logos
the original version was inaccurate and violated their TM process, i.e. hologram certified Nascar product
therefore the new logo with the 3d and drop shadow, that is the nascar approved version, is spec accurate

I am pissed. I got the 1st one...now I see the 2nd one and it looks waaay better. I've got to get it. Thank god for coupons

I appreciate everyones input so far, and agree with the last reply that NASCAR made Hasbro change the paint apps.

I also want to be clear to those that think I am really pissed, I am not. I titled the post this way to draw attention to the subject matter.
I am however in agreement that it is important to me as a collector when alternate paint apps or molds of a figure are altered mid production, that it is topic worthy.

I figured I would at the very least draw attention to this case in point, for others like myself who were either surprised, or unaware of this change.

Yes, its still a toy, but i want to get the "most" out of my money when i buy a toy, even if it means extra paint.

I hadn't noticed how crap the paint on the top of the car is until this thread. Oh well, I'll probably paint him one day so it doesn't make much difference.

I would not buy a new one. I'd send a message to reprolabels instead. They already did a bang up job with the deluxe.

It stands to reason that it shouldn't be that difficult to resize/cut the stickers for the HA model. Plus, on top of the right numbers, you'd get all of the other cool stickers.
