Suitable replacements for G1 Optimus Prime Fists?

now, i know i'm new, but there are some collectors like me out there who although strive for perfection, will accept a little less in order to make a "fun" collection instead of having everything and piece totally restored.
There should be a place for people to find quality KO full toys or KO PARTS that will fill the need. I personally have a G1 Optimus Prime, but no fists. I also have 3 kids who want their own toys.
But just when you have a moment, take a look at a set of G1 fists for Hoist, Metroplex, and Menasor, DEfensor, Trailbreaker. On first sight, of course they might be too long, but cut down/shortened precisely, would any of these fit into the hole and be the correct width/girth to fit and stay in the headlamp holes of G1 Optimus?
My goal here is to help some people out that don’t exactly care about color scheme but building a decent collection of g1’s on the cheaper side. As you know optimus fists usually go for way more than the ones I stated above to check out. Do you have any of these guys to compare or see what I am talking about?

It sound like it could work, but I can't be of much help right now. My collection isn't in the smae place where I live! What I do know is that combiner team fists are interchange able, the Scramble city style, I mean. Metroplex is unique, you can only replace those with those of another Metroplex.
Otherwise, you can always use toothpicks with molded clay fists.

There are several alternatives that may work for you, you could try transformerland.com see if they can find a pair of fists for Optimus Prime at a decent price.
You could of course splurge a little more and go for the BTS-03 Matrix of Leadership set which comes with a pair of fists for the old Autobot leader as well as a bunch of other nifty accessories.
Its currently going for $25 bucks at BBTS.
http://www.bigbadtoystore.com/bbts/prod ... ode=retailWith that said, I'm pretty sure the fists on Prime have a specific peg width, not sure any other's could work. Maybe Trailbreaker or Hoist's fists may fit if you cut them down.

hmmm, if anyone out there has tried to at least get a match on the peg width, tell me about it.

I've tried a Trailbreaker fist in an Optimus wrist and I'm sorry to report, no chance.

To wide, to narrow? what? something a few coats of nail polish may fix? or a a few rounds of sandpaper?
The length is easy to fix.

Ebay. I had the same problem when his original fists broke apart.

I have a junker G1 Prime missing his fists. I also have both RiD Scourge and G2 Laser Rod Optimus Prime, which are the same mold, and come with the same double-stubby-barreled guns. I took both guns and stuck them into the fist holes of G1 Prime, and they fit perfectly. He looks like he's holding both of the guns in his hands, his hands are just covered up. The only problem is, the guns are too heavy for his arms, so he can't point them, just stand with them by his side. Still looks good.

I honestly can't remember. I think it was probably length but it's been a while so don't dive in on my word. I'll check it when I get chance.

I use the extra fist hands off the old MG Zaku I model for my junker G2 Prime. He can't hold anything, but as is he has nothing to hold anyway.

hmmm, i would gladly buy a pair of cheaper fists and cut them down to fit my G1 optimus.
anyone out there please report a specific part that works if they can, i am scouring ebay right now and its not that i cant spend 20 bucks on fists, but i'd waaaaaaayyy rather spend ten and get something else needed with the other ten bucks, know what i mean?
what is this MG Zaku?
also, is there a knockoff version of teh G1 Jetfire out there? there is a KO version of Jetfire Classics, but Classics to me just isnt the G1. anyone agree?
i did buy a KO version of Soundwave, it looks quality and sturdy.

What about the Kre-o Optimus Prime fists? I don't own it, but they look good. Might take some modifications though?
