TF toys you recently passed on,then regreted, then went back to the store & they were gone/sold out.

A couple of months ago I went to a TJMAXX store & saw all 3 walmart store exclusives Universe Ultra Sized toys of: Hardhead,G-1 red colors powerglide & Skyfall. the toys were priced around $14.99.

I held Univere ultra sized hardhead in my hands debatted buying it then decided against buying it.

A day or two latter I see the extremly cool,3rd party headmaster hardhead kit on bbts.com. I look at the pics & like what I see.
I then decide I want universe hardhead & the next day go to the TJMaxx Store but their all sold out.

I wound up buying universe ultra sized hardhead on amazon.com for $26.
So at the very least I did get the figure & also the headmaster kit. bbts.com only had 4 headmaster hardhead kit's in stock,So I was lucky they didn't sell out.

ANOTHER STORY: I see Shadow blade sideswipe $29.99 human alliance toy. as few times during a year span. at various stores like walmart & lastly at TJMaxx & Marshalls for around $14.99. all these times I held the toy in my hands & debatted getting it but decided against it. I even debatted getting the black repaint because it looked more like G-2 Sideswipe's black colors despite the alt modes being all wrong. I decided I liked the movie silver/grey colors better. so didn't get the shadow blade sideswipe HA toy.

Later on,I get a DOTM Roadbuster human alliance toy. transform it & hate the weird baseball cap green robot head with beard on the face.
I decide I want shadow blade sideswipe to use the robot head for roadbuster. I then also want a second human alliance shadow blade sideswipe to have in my collection & I planned on selling my grey/silver HA Sideswipe.

Long story short,I check out 20 different discount stores like TJMAXX,Marshalls, ollies & ROSS. and their all sold out of Shadow blade human alliance sideswipe.

Unlike the Universe hardhead story, their is no happy ending for HA Shadowblade sideswipe. because I'm not willing to pay $40+ on the secondary market for the toy.

I'm gonna play the waiting game with ROTF/HFTD Human alliance shadow blade sideswipe. my hopes are that all the discount stores in america will get over-loaded with older transformers toy line Stuff during the Christmas buying season months.

I'm also kinda hoping that various regular retail chains ijn america will get over loaded with older transformers toy lines & toys for the christmas buying season months. like they sometimes do when large companies want to get rid of their toys & sell it to large retail stores at clearance prices. this happened in 2009,when some regular large retail stores go over loaded with asnimated, cybertron & 2007 TF movie toys.

I don't have any TF ones, but I do have a Thundercats-related one. I passed on the new figure of Grune the Destroyer at TRU when they had first came out. I've gone to several stores since then and he's the only one I can't find now.

Special Ops Jazz. I didn't like his look for some reason. But he's Jazz. He's awesome.

Blurr I saw him in the store a million times, but I was convinced I didn't want a Drift repaint. I decided having Kup and Hot Rod, I wanted him too. Not a big deal he is still on HTS. Also, got a Skullgrin. (I may be a compulsive shopper)

Universe prowl. To the point i saw him going for $4 at a clearance sale and i still passed. Now i decide buy him to complete the classics verse, he's around $40

Classics Ramjet, Starscream, Ironhide, Ratchet, Hound, Smokescreen too. Ok, i din't exactly see them on clearance, but was debating if i should pick um up or not... i decided not to, only to find out they too are $50 bucks each on ebay these days.

Finally, henkei astrotrain. I believe i saw him going for $28, which was a rather good deal. Again, passed.

:BANG_HEAD:

The only time it was a good thing i passed was with generations.
I passed on generations wheeljack, kup and skulgrin when they were at retail. Couldn't find um for over 2 months, then TRU decided to open leftover stock, and they were 45% off :KREMZEEK:

Animated Blurr on heavy discount. Saw him, passed on him...

... And wished I hadn't, after I never saw him again.

Wish I could hook you up with those, but I too am building up my classics/universe/generations/RTS collection. I swear, if I had a 2nd one of each, you'd have them :-(

I've told this story before and I'll tell it again: The first time I lived in Japan, while the likes of G1 Ultra Magnus and Rodimus were getting reissued I bafflingly found a boxed Overlord in a department store. Assuming it was another reissue I instead bought God Ginrai since I'd always been a fan of Powermasters. Nowadays the Ginrai set was massively overproduced leading to it being available for around $40 in Japan while Overlord goes for 6 or 7 times that amount.

I saw the Energon exclusive Ultra Magnus repaint of Armada Overload at Target once, back when it was released. I had it in my hands, looked it over, and decided to skip it as simply another gratuitous repaint. I never saw it again, and now years later I wanna tear my hair out when I see how expensive and rare it has become.

Back at BotCon 2001, there were a few MIB Grandus floating around the dealer room. I definitely had it on my list, but was concentrating on first finding a MIB Dai Atlus and Overlord. By the time I scored the DA and a MIB Lio Kaiser gift set, all the Grandi were gone, and in the three successive BotCons I attended I never saw it again. He would have been an awesome baseformer to use with my micromasters, but the piece is far beyond my means these days. Just gotta pray real hard for a reissue...

Some of the Animated toys for me. I got into collecting (or rather I finally had the money to start) after TFA was done. So I hit the end of the toy line pretty much >__< I passed on Bulkhead for either Arcee or Leader Ultra Magnus...can't remember which. All I know is one visit to the store had me nabbing Magnus over the other figure I had originally picked out (Magnus was $14 or $15 if I remember right). I also passed on Prowl for Jazz -__-

I saw Jazz like 5 times after I bought him. Didn't see Magnus for months, but he was more expensive when one did pop back up in TRU, so I'm glad I bought him. Still, I wish I had just splurged and bought Bulkhead when I had the chance >__<

I saw TFA Starscream at a small convention early this year and decided to think over the cost factor. I was on a slim budget and wanted to see what other vendors had before buying anything. When I went back a short time later he was gone :(

I've got a pretty good grasp of what I'm collecting these days. It's pretty focused, and not as big as it use to be. So I pretty much always have a short list of guys I'm looking for.

I was recently debating if I would get DOTM shockwave. I thought about it, seemingly too long. As he disappeared from shelves. So I thought, that was that, my decision was made for me.

Though, I saw him on sale for 10 bucks, and got him.

Hummmmm, let´s see...no, I actually freak out about a figure almost since it´s announced, so months before they hit the stores I really know wich ones I´ll get, so when I see them, they´re instant buys (I only collect more current lines).

Ho man, I remember when I finally found BM Jetstorm back in the day... I went crazy right there in the store! You ain´t getting it kids! it´s mine!

I passed up on classics op, same with the target 2 pack with ultra mag and skywarp.

I remember looking at them and saying... "pfft I'm to old for this ****." Now years later I'm looking for more shelf space on my walls so I can put up more figures! I can't believe I tried to fool myself back then. Any ways now those guys go for like 4 times retail and the add-ons look super awesome on them.

Now I do my research, check the blogs, sign up for mailing list. I by everything I want, NO SECOND GUESSING. I don't think ill ever be to old for Transformers.
