After some serious Debatting,I returned my $29.99 Roadbuster HA toy at the store for a refund

After some serious Debatting,I returned my boxed & opened up $29.99 Roadbuster HA toy at the store for a refund.

The reason for the return is as follows: I transformed the toy back & forth. the transformation is a bit un-pleasant. I don't mind a complex transformation as long as the toy looks awesome in both modes, this was not the case with DOTM HA Roadbuster.

the over-all toy in both modes had way too much going on & felt like 5 puzzles jammed into one puzzle. the robot legs appeared to have this weird hockey goaley gear attached to them. the baseball cap & flip down sun glasses were pure awful. the extra stealth mode weapons were too much for such a tiny voyager toy to handle. the toy looked like 20 designers passed by while the toy was being drawn/sculpted & they all got a shot at adding super-fiscial stuff that wasn't needed & wound up ruining the toy in both modes. Sorry,I'm not a fan of super ugly robot face sculpts.

I don't mind buying souless or 1-D persona media TF toys. As long as the toy looks awesome in both modes. Sadly this was not the case for $29.99 HA Roadbuster.

About the only positives I can say about this toy is as follows: I did notice the joint technology & poseability was decent.

I realize,Some internet TF fans are having a hard time trying to find this $29.99 HA Roadbuster toy. but to sell this on-line to a fellow TF fan. would have involved the following: (1) Revealing my home address & Paypal account. I kinda like my privacy. (2) Most TF internet fans don't want to pay sales tax. they don't want to pay any paypal fees. some don't even want to pay full price for the item. This isn't something laying around collecting dust. it's something I recently bought. (3) I noticed TF fans say they really want this item but according to ebay, buyers don't even want to pay $29.99 for this item. (4)I might as well return this item to the store using my receipt & get my 100% refund. instead of selling it to a TF fan for less. or having to pay any extra shipping fees or having to pay any paypal fees. or having to not charge sales tax.

I actually really like this figure. It is a bit ugly and can be difficult, but that's not a problem for me.

It's a hell of a lot better than HA Leadfoot.

Sorry to hear about your dissapointment dude! As just pointed he is way better than Leadfoot and is one of the few HA TFs of that scale that I picked up. I didn't even want him at first. Since I got RB I have kept him in bot mode and with Highbrow's guns mounted RB is just bad-ass...'nuff said! :VEHI:

It's OK to return something if it's broken or defective, but to return a toy just because you didn't like it is pretty lame. I'm surprised the store even allowed you to return it if nothing was wrong with it.

I agree that statement.

.
If it gets put back on the shelf then some poor kid (or collector) is going to get your *used* toy when they think (and are *paying* for) a new one :/ You bought it, you played with you, you should suck it up. It'd be more understandable if you never opened it or if it broken when you were playing with it, but the fact you played with it and just decided you didn't like how it looked and transformed and so returned it is just... absolutely rude.

For some reason, this HA RB never attract me as much as BB, Jazz, Barricade, and the upcoming Soundwave. I see it here and there and never bother pick it up.

It's okay you return it as long as the store lets you. Those 4 excuses at the bottom are unnecessary.

I disagree with you. Stores have return policies on non-defective merchandise some up to 90 days, and the Op only utilized a facility within the rules. There's nothing wrong here. Anything else that you'd buy, bring home and find disappointing, you're going to see if you can return for your money back. Why should TFs be any different? $29.99 is no small sum for a local mass retail product.

I agree with you on how both modes seemed ruined, more so in the robot mode as it seemed like they cared less to make it look like a robot with decent proportions. It isn't terrible or anything but the car mode seems incomplete especially with the gap between the doors and windscreen. The robot suffers having the small roof still being visible from the front due to the fact it has the thinnest waist I have ever seen which makes legs prevent going straight side by side because the legs have a small waist separating them and large kibble in between.

I am not saying it isn't good, it is great and is one of the best Human Alliance figures but typical to the line it needs another revision or two before to get it more perfect.

Also please don't knock HA Leadfoot, I like him better than Roadbuster once I got his transformation exactly the way I like it, especially without modding it. Also Leadfoot has at least his nascar altmode is impressive because considering the amount of panels and thing shifting around it ends up perfectly flush, especially considering that Hasbro normally qc issues with their figures and despite the complexity it can transform flush it really needs to be appreciated more.

*sighs* Here we go again. Can you people just give it a rest? Seriously? We know where you stand, you know where we stand. The laws pertaining to this are different in every country. Just because you THINK it should be your way, doesn't mean it should. Do you just lie in wait for this or something? Seriously...

Exactly. I seriously don't know what their deal is, I mean, they've made their points several times in various threads, we know how that party feels. It's over and done with. It doesn't need to be rehashed over and over and over.

very much agreed! and if i returned my DOTM skids and mudflap just because i did not like them it would mean my collection shrinking. same for DOTM jolt. and i know this may seem odd but......i actually like DOTM skids and mudflap  they are fun to transform what can i say?

i love HA roadbuster! lead foot im not getting, its just plain ugly. the more the complex the better ;) it depends.

The only $29.99 Human alliance toys I like & kept in my TF toy collection is as follows: Jazz, first release colors-Bumblebee,barricade & black colored battle blade sideswipe.

I'm most likely gonna buy & keep $29.99 HA Soundwave when it arrives in stores in my area.

The $29.99 HA toys I didn't like were as follows: Skids, mudflap,Leadfoot & Roadbuster.

I liked mine so much I bought a second one, one for each mode; and even applied Reprolabels to the one with "correct font 88s" then used the leftovers and some 1/25 NASCAR model stickers to dress up my 'bot mode.

I saw somewhere in this thread that someone badmouthed Leadfoot, just have to find a transformation you like with him.

My biggest and overwhelming complaint about HA Roadbuster is the head sculpt is wrong.
He wears a helmet, watch the scene where they suprise return to Chicago.
When he says " we built the damn thing didn't we"

Head is so fugly as a toy, movie head is glorious.

Bring on HA Top Spin.
