Some look more like beast wars guys rather than G1.
as if they landed in the present and not the past.

Just got wreckage today and allready want to repaint him after seeing that dinobot custom - really fits the character well - especially as he uses melee weapons

Im temped to buy both now that ive done that digibash and try dyeing them.
they are both mostly pale almost-white.
and I think I found a cool and easy way to whiten plastic first (I whitened uo the Ultra Magnus I got at the Toronto Transformerscon) but I didnt want to whiten it too much incase I ruined it, so now I want to see how white i can get those guys.

Yeah.. Botcon would make a killing if they remade the movie figs into beast modes.

Well I think Starscream would be purfect as Dinobot! Wy? Cos he transforms into a Raptor! But other than that they have nothing in comon. Maybe Ironhide as Scorponock?

Im surprised people are suprised...
Of course they look closest to BWs, Bay/ILM have concously designed them to look 'alien', which in hollywood means more like animals, especilly bugs. Now which previous toy line would have the most tfs of that discription? Also, with the exception of RiD, the only line/s that werent 'blocky' by and large was BW/BM. So again, no real suprise we get a bit of a BW/BM vibe.
There is one very big difference though, unlike most of BW/BM, the movie toys are actully rather good, dont have random limbs from their altmode splayed everywhere, have something aproximating hands, and can not only standup, but pull a lot of cool and easy to kep poses.
In short, unlike BW/BM, the vast majority of them aint crap.

I never noticed that before. Certainly, I noticed that they all look more more insect-like, but Wreckage looks a lot like Dinobot.

Yeah, everyone's been saying how Wreckage's head looks like Megatron.
NONSENSE! It's CLEARLY Dinobot's head!

Lay off the "truck not monkey" stuff, okay? Some of us like the Beast series' and the only time the BW/BM figs had the conspicous flailing limbs were the insects for the most part. And as for posability, when do you think balljoints were first used on TFs? And I don't remember the Beast Wars having massive breakage issues with virtually every figure in the line, either. I agree that the movie figues look like the Beast figures due to similar basing on the animal kingdom but there was no direct inspiration from the past lines. Look at Scorponok, fer Cybertrons sake! What the hell is that? Well, I guess he is what he looks like... a helicopters steaming turd.

Pffft. RIGHT.
They're made of junky plastic, leaving stress marks everywhere.
Some are imperfect in configuration design, leading to breakage and other such fun.
"Automorphs" that have transformation problems?
Inferior paint quality?
And the Decepticons look like ASS.
http://seibertron.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=6729&sid=Beast Wars had it's turds here and there over the years, but they weren't this defective, non-functional or ugly within such a small time frame.

I always liked vehicles more than animals, but I loved Beast Wars through and through.
That said, these "repaints" are awesome. Starscream as Waspinator looks especially cool, and strangely, I like it better than the standard scheme.

Too bad his alt mode is so not-velociraptorish. It's a hulking tank thing, a mode which would fit pre-Rex Megatron better.

True, but if you were wrong about that... why, you could be wrong about everything!

Nice recolors of Wreckage and the Starscream figures.
