Transmetal 2 toys designs seemed like a big dissapointment compared to the awesome Transmetal 1 toys.
Personally everything cool about the transmetals 1 Beastwars toys were gone in the Transmetal 2 toys.
I loved the vechicle alt modes the Transmetal 1 toys had. their was no vechicle alt modes for the Transmetals 2 toys.
the whole cool thing about the transmetals 1 toys were the reversed modes. the beast mode was metalic, while the robot mode was furry/fleshy. The Transmetal 2 toys had this ugly infusion of robotic+fleshy in both modes, with patches in both modes. I hated all the cyborg added sculpt details that was present in both modes.
I didn't like that the transmetal 2 toys had less vacumized chrome parts than the Transmetal 1 toys.
for the most part the transmetal 1 toys looked better in appearance & were better proportioned. the transmetals 2 toys looked like hideous deformed frankenstein monsters with mis-proportioned parts.
I'd consider the Beastwars 2nd galvatron as a Transmetal 1 toy. as it has a robotic looking beast mode. some of the robot mode parts have human muscles+veins. the toy has a 3rd tank drill vechicle mode.
I always dreamed they'd take the Beastwars 2nd lioconvoy toy & make it a transmetal 1 ultra sized toy. with a added truck cab vechicle mode.
Personally I thought it was a shame the transmetal 1 toy concept only got one year worth of toys. I would have liked to see another year of transmetal 1 toy designs/concepts in 1999. instead we gotthe inferior/ugly/mis-proprtionded cyborg frankenstein looking TM2 toys in 1999.
to see the transmetal 1 toys evoulve into the hideous cyborg styled transmetal 2 toys was pure awful. deleting the vechicle modes in favor of the extra cyborg detail was a huge mistake.
My favorite Transmetal 1 toy was Ultra sized Rampage. as it had the best vechicle mode of the lot. also it looked powerful & highly sculpted/detailed in all 3 modes.
please list what your favorite transmetal 1 toy is.

The vehicle modes for most Transmetal 1 figures were tacked on crap so I am glad they got rid of them. Also TM2 Megatron > TM1 Megatron. My favorite TM1 figure would be Rampage. How can you not like a giant metal crab?

Tigerhawk ROCKED. I wasn't that fond of the Frankenstein-like TM2s, but the look and feel of Tigherhawk was great. He would've sucked if he had been done in a more "plain" style.
So yeah, TM2 was generally sub-par, but a couple characters were great and couldn't have been done in another line.

TM2 certainly seemed lazier to me. Then again, looking at the original TM toys, they're incredibly well done. They capture a sort of G1 style similar to the dinobots, while still very much being BW toys. TM2, I guess they didn't know what to do next. Many of them were very disappointing for me. Ramulas, Jawbreaker, Scourge, Cybershark. I think may have enjoyed all these ones more if they were standard looking designs like season 1 BW toys. I probably only like Dinobot and Cheetor because well, they're dinobot and cheetor. They have pretty simplistic transformations.
Though the basics (scouts) I feel are pretty solid little guys. Good alt modes, decent robot modes. A skunk, a monkey, a bat. They don't have some forced gimmick on them too. No one spring loaded mechanism getting in the way. They really make up for the lack of basic size TM toys.

IMHO,TM2 Megatron was a horrible awful mis-proprtioned toy in both modes. filled with over excess kibble in both modes. the robot legs were too short & fat. the big round ball that was suspose to hold a spark was too huge & ruined the robot chest design. the rubbery parts were pure awful & the worst kibble of all. their was no need for the translucent yellow robot head baseball cap with the horns on the sides. the toy had too much red on it,their needed more highlight colors to break up all that red. the robot head was too big,it looked like a Super deformed gundam robot head. lastly to toy was loose in the joints in the ankles & knees causing the toy to fall forward or backward on display poses.

Bob forward & larry ditillio revealed that they wanted optimus primal to stay dead at the end of season 1 of beastwars. and bob & larry wanted the silverbolt character to become the maximal leader in season 2 of beastwars.
The TM2 Tigerhawk toy was originally planned to be a ultra sized Fuzor Silverbolt toy that was suspose to represent silverbolt as the maximal leader. this is why the toy has wings,it was suspose to be a flying wolf.
but it got recolored & called Tigerhawk. at the very last minute to represent the VOK fused form of airrazor & Tigerhawk. in beastwars hasbro used the same singular cheetor mold & recolored it as a panther,a lion & so forth. so recoloring a wolf as a tiger isn't a big stretch for hasbro for the beastwars toy line.
Honestly this Tigerhawk toy looks nothing like a transmetal 2 toy. as it has no cyborg added sculpted parts on the toy.

I want to know where you got this information. I've been scouring the net and can't find any of this info. Hasbro didn't even plan to release the toy. That's why he only got 3 episodes.
Never heard about the intent for Silverbolt to be the next leader either.
I'm beginning to believe you just make stuff up so you can start a long drawn out thread in which no one agrees on anything.

Just because you edit wikipedia to say this, doesn't make it true.
Why would a 1999 toy, that was almost canceled, be planned to be used, ahead of, and instead of a 1998 toy. Optimal optimus was very much planned.
The only sliver of truth you have is, indeed tigerhawk may have been a flying wolf. As Tigatron was intended to be wolfang. Same character personality, just different model. To save money they went with a cheetor recolor. So, in that case, had tigatron been a wolf, they may have done something else entirely. So Wolfhawk may not have existed. Though, even still silverbolt may not have gotten selected if we already had a wolf.
I tried to give you a chance, because you're so negative in all your topics. At least this time you were praising the TM toys. Now you're just making crap up?

TM2 Magetron is awesome IMO. I sorta like the 'Megatron in a dragon costume'. It's just the rubber that bugs me.

while i do think you create some interesting topics from time to time "deathy" or tidalwavex you do seem to go back and forth from time to time. one minute you dislike older toylines for their lack of complexity and then love them the next.
im beginning to get the notion you like to pad your post count.
back on topic
i only ever had but a few transmetal figures tigerhawk, megatron, ratrap i truthfully never cared for them. i was in that phase of wanting to collect something tf related and gave them a shot but they just seemed overly shiny and it wasnt long before i sold them.

I have the toy as well as his repaint Razorclaw, and I'm pleased to inform you, both do have cybernetic parts. And I don't see how you can turn a feline into a canid with paint alone, look at Wolfang and Cheetor, and compare their faces.
Next time, when criticizing figures,
be sure you actually own them! If there's anything I can't stand is criticism based on unfounded guesswork.

no.

Definitely like the designs better for transmetal 1 though special shout outs to Transmetal 2 Megs, Blackarachnia, and Optimal Optimus.
I have to say the best T1 was probably Rampage though Depth Charge was just as good. All of them were quality home runs in my book though.
