I Have an honest question here. I mean, where is Mirage? The speculated leader class figures? Sure, their said to come next year, (The leaders) But everyone's saying new Movie molds end after the new year, so what can I,as a transformers collector, hope for the future of movie figures to come, if at all?

yes I know. I'm just saying, Don't hold out for what may not (Maybe even most likely not) Happen. Third bike sister and big constructicons all over again? I Really hope against it, but it's hard to not give in to some doubts...

They could possibly show up in the post-DOTM line. Like HFTD or Allspark Powered from ROTF and movie 1. New molds are stil created then, like Tomahalk, Hailstorm, Deluxe Ironhide, Leader Starscream... ;)

agreed. They might not be under the DOTM name, but we might see some of the guys like Mirage in the future.

Hey, if they made a (fugly) Que and a Que that better resembles Wheeljack, they might very well make Dino/Mirage. They both were rather obscure in the films after all. And if Hasbro thinks they can make money off of something like a Leader Shockwave, Soundwave, Megatron, etc, then we might very well see them out and about too.

Lmao. For some reason that pic makes me think of a High Templar from Starcraft, except he's red instead of gold xD

...OK, I think that's a sign I need to go to bed. My brain is merging universes xD

Keep in mind Hasbro has announced that after the DOTM line ends it will be replaced with the Movie Trilogy line where they can release anything movie franchise related that they wish. Hell I guess they could even throw that Leader Blackout that everybody wants in there since this line will celebrate all three movies.

when was this announced? This gives me hope, and I can't wait to see what gets released! (I hope not a bunch of re-paints)

It was announced at this year's NYCC. It's the line that will include Deluxe Prime with the Chronicle set's trailer and the Que repaint with G1 style Wheeljack head.

Let's not get into the stupid "Dino not Mirage" debate...

So odd how DotM ended up giving us many new molds for characters who didn't end up in the movie in the first few waves and has yet to release the 'new and exciting' hyped-up bots you'd expect to be first in line.

I can see this being an official rumour by early January... "I read somewhere that we're getting a leader Blackout"

I've been thinking the same for ages.

Remember Revenge of the Fallen movie came out in the summer of '09 and the Hunt for Decepticons toy line came out in the summer of 2010, with molds like leader Starscream that everyone had been wanting for years. Wouldn't be surprised if we don't see new molds like deluxe Dino and leader Shockwave till summer of 2012, if ever.

Screwing us? Rather harsh words, all things considered.

We don't know for sure we're receiving Dino, plus the promised Leaders, but we have no reason to assume we aren't either.

I'd be more p.o.ed about the lull we're having right now, rather than anything else. Bandai's been getting all of my money with Power Rangers Samurai. SharkZord FTW. I know I've mentioned it before, but it bears repeating because I hope, HOPE, that Hasbro sees this post and starts moving new product and not in small doses at a time.

This wait is getting ridiculous. Leadfoot should've been out by now. Japan has him, why not Target?

You know, all throughout the movie toylines we've had this, and it's always "explained away" as being distribution problems or whatnot. Is it not reasonable to think that after four or five years and three films, these distribution issues would be solved? Not to mention that Hasbro has been marketing and selling this particular line of toys for close to 30 YEARS, and is a far cry from being like a start up or thrid-party level operation.

While I absolutely don't think anyone is being screwed by Hasbro, I do agree that waiting around forever for new figures is beyond annoying. And, to cap it off for me, I don't even like the movie toys, but I'm just so tired of seeing the same ones shelfwarming every place I go, that I'm praying for new ones to come out so at least I can not buy new figures. I can only imaging how annoying it is if you want to buy the movie toys that are somewhere in the pipeline but can't find them anywhere. The slew of BBs, well, that one's on HAsbro for thinking that someone was really going to buy 20 "new" BBs in DOTM packaging, and they aren't selling, which is clearly seen by the plethora of them at any given retail store. But why the newer ones arent out, that beats me.
Again, agreed, no one is really getting screwed, but it's like someone is asleep at the wheel. It should not take all this time to hammer out a distribution problem.

Regardless of how well Hasbro markets these figures, it's down to the retail chains to actually want to buy them. The problem with most of these stores right now is the figures are either overpriced (Kmart, Shopko) or overstocked (Walmart) so they don't move off the shelves. And the retailers won't buy more figures if the pegs are already warmed. To the higher ups, as long as there's product on the shelves and sales are decent they could care less about stocking new figures.

The only exception to this I've seen is Target. Yeah, they charge the full $12 for deluxes, but I swear there's a sale every other week. Also, they don't buy 30 cases of Wave 1 (I'm looking at you, Walmart.) And you know what happens in Target? They get the new figures first, at least around here.

This post gave me a glimmer of hope. :D Love to see Leader Blackout, Leader Shockwave, HA Ratchet, Leader DOTM Megatron, HA Topspin, Voyager Bonecrusher (from 1st movie), to name a few.
