It has been quite a while since the release of this G1 tribute and so I've been wondering for a while when we can expect the repaint. It was actually announced (I think) unless I dreamt it. Does anyone know if this has been scrapped or will it be released in 2012?

I thought Hubcaps alt-mode was great but his paint apps for his limbs and face just didn't work for me. I know it sounds crazy but that's the crazy man in me. His feet were probably the coolest thing about him looking all "Gundam-ish". Who is suppose to be the repaint for this mold? Sorry for not remembering but maybe HasTak might do another 2 pack release like Windcharger.

It was scrapped along with the Breacher repaint and Rumble. I suspect they'll find their way out at some point, but who knows when.

You're a bit behind. Downshift (Hubcap repaint), Bodyblock (Breacher repaint) have been canceled, and Rumble remains a TakaraTomy exclusive.

WTF?? I don't know how I missed that news, sh*t!! Is it possible HasTak may consider another character for the HC mold? Well I may consider my contact to do some paint work on him if nothing more developes. Man this sucks even for old news!

Granted, it was never officially announced to my knowledge, they were just never released when DotM hit, replacing RtS as *the* Movie line.

I was kind of hoping they'd release it in his original G1 colors; he already has an orange face like his original incarnations. I guess I'll just have to find and extra and paint it yellow, and the original HFTD Hubcap can be his G2 self.

I wonder if this, plus the canceled scouts might show up in the Trilogy line. The molds are already made so I think that they will be released at some point.

Huh. That's kinda freaky. I painted a Hubcap in a similar scheme 'cept I called him Frame Rail. Spooky.
