I was chatting to the manager of Hasbro (Romania) last night (yes, really!). She told me that their most common customer inquiry is "where can I get a Bumblebee TF?" because shops just can't stock enough of them! Even though there are sometimes more Bees than anything else in a crate, and even though there are more Bee molds and more Bee repaints than all the other figures put together (that may be a slight exaggeration) they just can't satisfy demand in Romania for the li'l yellow bugger.

Who would have thought it, huh?

Quick! Send all the Bee's in the US to Romania.

Cool that you got to talk to the people at Hasbro Well there's not an overload of BBs here ... but its not epicly scarce either.

The only Hasbro reps i talked to were the promoters for DOTM Toys at TRU... Even them knew nothing of future releases, and even the TFs of other lines! They were also struggling to transform the delue SS on display, and i had to help em

A customer actually bought a Generations WFC BB at that time and asked them for help transforming it. After awhile, they said it was broken. But i still managed to transform it for the customer in the end. Just shows how much the Hasbro reps here know (or care) about TFs.

We can make hundreds of thousands of Romanian kids happy this Christmas!


Plus, make room for stuff we want like TF:Prime and the next Classics series.

Nobody remembers the total drought of TFs in 2007? Especially deluxe Camaro concept Bumblebee was considered a holy grail. How fate laughs on us now...

Yea, people even fought for the freaking FABs just to get a Bumblebee. We had like 10 threads every day crying and angsting about not having/finding Concept Bumblebee and how stupid Hasbro was to only include 4 per case. People even went and repainted Cliffjumper as Bumblebee because they couldn't find BB any more.
And look at us now, making fun of poor old Romania for experiencing the same thing now.

1- I second this get rid of all the Bumblebee's,so we can get newer stuff stocked on USA stores shelves. cuz bee is causing everything he's in the assortment with not to get ordered in furure assortment waves cuz he's a shelf/peg warmer.

without bumblebee...the whole TF toy line would be cancelled. He is hasbro's tf money maker. He is to TF's what Lightning McQueen is to the CARS franchise. we need to show bumblebee some love. he and optimus prime are the only reason we get the other awesome figures

Most popular? yes. Reason the toys exist? Not so much. We'd get Transformer toys as long as the shows/movies are popular. Bee and Optimus just happen to be characters Hasbro can milk to death, but movie Bee could have easily been any other character (ex: Hot Rod/Hot Shot). They just chose Bee.

((I can't tell you how many people I ran into pre-1st movie that were pissed because they thought Hasbro had changed Hot Shot's name to Bumblebee ^^;; I had to inform them otherwise))

Kids want toys for shows & movies the like. It's pretty much that simple. If Bee was the reason the toys existed we wouldn't have had all the toy lines pre-Bay movies.

IMHO,the most popular transformers toys are optimus prime,starscream cuz he's got seekers recolors potential & megatron.

Bumblebee just made a huge come back due to the micheal bay movies. before that bumblebee wasn't that popular nor in demand.

I wasn't following this site back then, but I guess I lucked out with that Bee. I had no issues finding him at all <.< I think he was my first or second purchase for that movie line. Lol.

I had found one, disliked it and given it away before people on here were complaining about how hard it was to find one and paying idiotic prices for them on eBay. But, if only we knew that in a few short years we'd never find anything BUT Bumblebees..... You know, 'cause the kids love him.....so much that they shelfwarm horrendously.
