Custom job. He made the unfortunate mistake of showing it with the Takara box in the background.

However Hasbro would do wise to release this bad boy States side. Since most everyone in Japan and a lot of people in America were disgusted by the colors and Takara's seeming refusal to change them, Hasbro could get a fair deal of international sales on this one. Of course, they'd probably have to do a bunch of bizarre things like shorten the missiles or something due to U.S. safety standards.

Maybe it's Takara pulling its head out of its hole-in-the-ground and releasing him in his original colors. Here's to hoping.

I don't think that's a custom job. The air intakes are molded red plastic. That's why they look "faded." The light from the background is showing through the plastic.

Then again I could be wrong and look like a complete dufus.

We'll find out this coming week.

It's not like the question won't be asked 10,000 times at BotCon.

...by me.

If they release it here I will buy it. I didn't buy the jap version because of the stupid colors.

Hasbro Never does Intricate "Line Detailing" which you can clearly see on the wings.. not to mention the plastic coloring and such.. also Hasbro doesn't do very much battle damage and wear on its toys.. see MP Optimus prime/Blackout.. I'm betting its a fake, or a custom...

Yeah, I was wondering about the panel lines on there, as well... particularly on the legs, you can see the work got a little dirty. Still, I'd LOVE to see that released over here. Though I'm a little more interested in the Skywarp version. Always loved that Seeker, never got him as a G1, that would be nice payback.

He left the blue parts on his arms unpainted, which doesn't match with the blue he painyed on his feet. FAKE.

S250 originally posted information about this on TFW. He's well known in the fandom, and honest.

He said it's the American version and will be sold.

I believe him. It's the real deal, not a custom or a fake.

Im gonna assume its fake, all the grey is covered in paint, and there is a box behind it displaying it in its ugly color version.

but it could also be a cheap test shot of the colors or somthing, because obviously some of the plastic is moulded in new colours, perhaps they are testing out the paint scheme.

Anyways I hope they release it, hoping even more they remove all that black lining all over his body, include the crown and cape, and remould his feet and legs to be more true to the original. (stascream had iconic and unique feet)

also I hope they do all the seekers, hat would be cool, I wont buy all of them but there are legions of fans who will.

I think it kicks some serious butt! Though, sadly, I do vote that this is a custom.

While some of you guys are asking about this supposed Hasbro release of MP Starscream @ BotCon next week, please cover all the bases and try to get an answer if they also have (at least tentative) plans to do Skywarp & Thundercracker. Please & thank-you :)

The red air intakes look like they're made out of real red plastic, you can even see the sun shining through them a bit. I think its the genuine article.

The toy in Picture 7 is not even the same toy as the ones in the rest of the Pictures! Pic 7 has the white outline on the air intakes and more panel lines etc.

I must say, if this is the quality of the actual toy, I'm not impressed.

And why does he look so disproportioned in Picture 8?
Oh and why is he not transformed properly in Half the pictures?
???

So many questions...

my thoughts.

The plastic is quite transparent in the intakes and they are red right through. Same with the grey-white areas. What I mean is the light can pass through it. If it were a repaint of the original figure, this would not be occuring.

The canopy looks close to the original MP-03 but seems a touch more amber. The insignia on the figure is inverse and is wider than normal. It is also mistransformed. The legs are not pulled all the way out.

Also these are taken on grubby looking white tiles.

Odd pic out.

There is one shot of an MP-03 repaint also. It stands infront of the box. That figure is properly transformed the insigna are not inverted and they are the narrower. The figure has the MP-03 green-blue where the feet are hindged and swivel.

My thoughts: The first one may be the real deal, but in light of where it was taken, I suspect knock off. The other pic is a repaint.

A true thing of beauty. This will atone nicely for the disastrous eyesore Starscream is in the movie.

The last 2 photos are of different figures, it seems. Look at the wing detail...
