Takara Vortex figure

So for xmas I received the Vortex figure from BBTS and on the back of the package it has the following. Anyone else get this figure and notice the misprint?

"canon converts to GLUE machine gun"

Also I noticed that some BJ's warehouse's have Ultimate Prime for under $35. That's a pretty good deal if you have a membership but I wouldn't be surprised to see Walmart/Target start cutting the prices down on him as well.

Nope, it's not a typo but instead a homage to the original Vortex's bio, which states that he uses a uses semi-automatic glue gun.

Yup, makes no sense to me either.

Thanks Mkall - I guess you really do learn something everyday? LOL I assumed that because the color of his mech tech weapon was blue it was just a misprint. So Glue machine gun it is. :BANG_HEAD:

Actually guys, it could be a typo, a faulty transliteration with a the loss of a pun to be exact. You see, in Japanese any rotor makes a "guru-guru" sound, including those of a helicopter, and it's that fact that the name of Vortex' weapon was based on: Guru-Gun. Unfortunately, the English word "glue" is spelled the same in Japanese.

Color me crazy, but I think that's the reason why G1 Vortex had a glue gun as well  Maybe I'm just seeing things.

I'm not so certain. I recall Bob Budiansky mention at Botcon a couple of years back that his TF bios could not mention weapons that actually caused direct damage, hence why Cliffjumper got his Glass Gas gun. I don't know if policy changed over the years, but it certainly didn't stop us seeing some interesting weapons. For example, Blast Off shot X-Rays, Brawl had Sonic Cannons (and a main battle cannon too), and Swindle had a Gyro-Gun. Vortex having a glue gun doesn't seem too far fetched when considering the arms of his companions.

Iirc, some experimental crowd control weapons use a sort of big@ss gun that fires an adhesive compound ( no damage to them hippie Occupy type demonstrators).

And that is not a typo. The intent as mentioned by Mkall is on the spot.
