im not sure where to post this, but i was wondering if anyone had any information regarding the beast wars megatron-see i always thought he was a different bot who took the name of the original megatron, but a buddy of mine thinks hes the same guy, so which is it?

In the official continuity, he's a different Transformer. In the far future, long after the Autobots' and Decepticons' time, he takes the name "Megatron" when he recruits his new Predacon army. Or thereabouts.

Of course, on the first wave of toys, the official bio said he WAS the real Megatron - but nobody these days takes that information seriously, and it was replaced and ignored later in the Beast Wars.
