In the G1 cartoon, they left because the planet's energy resources have been depleted. In WFc, they left because the planet had become so corrupted that the Core had to shut itself down in order to begin a long healing process that would last for years upon years.
Plus, Dark Energon didn't exist in the G1 cartoon.
Starscream GaGa wrote:2. I don't see why that makes it incompatible, they just gave Omega some more importance and a reason to be in the game.
In the G1 cartoon, Omega's primary function before going to Earth was being the Guardian Robot of Crystal City. In WFC, his primary function was his being the Omega Key. And, he was an individual, whereas he was but one of many Guardian Robots in the G1 cartoon.
Starscream GaGa wrote:3. Yes, that doesn't fit very cleanly, I admit, but G1 made changes all the time, the core may have had it because Primus didn't think Sentinel/Zeta was worthy of it, because of his corruption.
In the G1 cartoon, Optimus got the Matrix from Alpha Trion. And, Sentinel Prime and Zeta Prime were separate individuals, when they are the same person in WFC. and WFC Sentinel Zeta Prime is one of the few designs who looks nothing like (either of) his G1 counterparts.
Starscream GaGa wrote:4. I don't see why that is a stretch? Why can't Trypticon have a space station Cybertronian alt mode?
In the G1 cartoon, Trypticon was birthed in 2006 on Earth.
Starscream GaGa wrote:I'm not saying WFC fits perfectly, but I think it really wasn't made to be slapped down as a prequel to Prime, despite what Hasbro says about this silly aligned continuity.
Well, let me ask this. Was G1 created to be a prequel to Beast Machines? All personal feelings about that series aside, that is.
I ask because, basically, WFC/Exodus is to Prime as G1 is to Beast Machines.
Starscream GaGa wrote:I really think it was meant to be either its own continuity or just a story that they wanted to be in G1 continuity, but still use popular characters, even if it created continuity errors.
As I've said before, "being inspired by G1" doesn't always equal "being G1".
Starscream GaGa wrote:Exodus fits Prime far better, but WFC and Exodus are completely different stories.
Oh, you've read Exodus? Cool. PM me. I wanna show you something.
