If I may, are you forgetting that in the cartoon the dinobots were made on earth, yet many comics place grimlock in the gladiator arena with megatron. Also, what about megatron and optimus's energon weapons, or jazz's winch hook, or ironhide's nitro coolant, or sideswipes drill, or rumble and frenzies ground pounders.

Then there's also the part of how in the game, the slugs were removing the dark energon, which could also help lead to the planet not having any energon at all. You know, like when shockwave finally reached megatron who was on earth at the time.

More possible to follow.

every episode of every Transformers cartoon, every issue of every Transformers comic and especially every individual cardback bio on every Transformers toy...all their own unique continuity that may or may not match up perfectly with any one or more others. all canon.

+1 on this.

i dont think the G1 writers ever cared about a "bible" to keep track of or make any sense about what happened before the autobots landed on earth(or after they landed)...its not like some JR tolkien books or even some video games(mass effect, halo. etc) that tries to keep the continuity as comprehendable as possible. i think the guys developing this video game are just trying to make a BAD A$$ game using characters that they love from G1 series. its obvious that the personalities of the characters in the video game more closely resembles G1 characters then any other spinoffs or generations.

Starscream GaGa wrote:1. Wasn't Dark Energon just to give an actual physical reason to why there was no Energon on Cybertron? Primus/Cybertron's core said he was rebooting Cybertron, which is why they had to find Energon from elsewhere.
In the G1 cartoon, they left because the planet's energy resources have been depleted. In WFc, they left because the planet had become so corrupted that the Core had to shut itself down in order to begin a long healing process that would last for years upon years.

Plus, Dark Energon didn't exist in the G1 cartoon.

Starscream GaGa wrote:2. I don't see why that makes it incompatible, they just gave Omega some more importance and a reason to be in the game.
In the G1 cartoon, Omega's primary function before going to Earth was being the Guardian Robot of Crystal City. In WFC, his primary function was his being the Omega Key. And, he was an individual, whereas he was but one of many Guardian Robots in the G1 cartoon.

Starscream GaGa wrote:3. Yes, that doesn't fit very cleanly, I admit, but G1 made changes all the time, the core may have had it because Primus didn't think Sentinel/Zeta was worthy of it, because of his corruption.
In the G1 cartoon, Optimus got the Matrix from Alpha Trion. And, Sentinel Prime and Zeta Prime were separate individuals, when they are the same person in WFC. and WFC Sentinel Zeta Prime is one of the few designs who looks nothing like (either of) his G1 counterparts.

Starscream GaGa wrote:4. I don't see why that is a stretch? Why can't Trypticon have a space station Cybertronian alt mode?
In the G1 cartoon, Trypticon was birthed in 2006 on Earth.

Starscream GaGa wrote:I'm not saying WFC fits perfectly, but I think it really wasn't made to be slapped down as a prequel to Prime, despite what Hasbro says about this silly aligned continuity.
Well, let me ask this. Was G1 created to be a prequel to Beast Machines? All personal feelings about that series aside, that is.

I ask because, basically, WFC/Exodus is to Prime as G1 is to Beast Machines.

Starscream GaGa wrote:I really think it was meant to be either its own continuity or just a story that they wanted to be in G1 continuity, but still use popular characters, even if it created continuity errors.
As I've said before, "being inspired by G1" doesn't always equal "being G1".

Starscream GaGa wrote:Exodus fits Prime far better, but WFC and Exodus are completely different stories.
Oh, you've read Exodus? Cool. PM me. I wanna show you something. ;)

Employing E-Prime in the discussion would likely solve the "continuity" "debate", since most of the issues revolve around confusion between subjective and objective analysis and observation.

I wonder if he'll be called "Bruticus" or "Bruticus Maximus", since he was specifically called the latter in Exodus.

And the Universe/ROTF redeco of the Energon combiner went by that name instead of just "Bruticus". So, I wonder if Hasbro has the name "Bruticus" by itself anymore. If they do, I wonder why they went with "Bruticus Maximus" for the Universe/ROTF figure when they went with just "Superion" instead of "Superion Maximus" for that Universe/ROTF figure.

So, "Bruticus" or "Bruticus Maximus", I wonder which it is for this guy. :-B

I'm expecting "Bruticus Maximus". C-Scourge had a repaint in the Universe 2008 line, made to resemble RiD Bruticus. His name? "Predacon Bruticus".

Bruticus was never my favorite combiner, but I was thinking, he's probably one of the best choices to use as a return to combiners. Each of his limbs has a pretty different alt mold. While devastator is one I like, 6 construction vehicles can be ab it boring, especially for kids. They're very much a whole team. Though, 5 pieces of bruticus, well, each one could probably easily sell to a kid on their own.

That depends on how Hasbro/retailers sell these. Last I checked individual Deluxes go for around $13, so 5 separate Combaticons would be around $65 in total. If they go for a giftset the Combaticons would most likely be cheaper (perhaps $50).
Also depends on what store you're going to. Target and Walmart for whatever reasons tends to be less expensive that TRU, Kmart, or any other stores.

What on odd phrase to use in relation to something like this... And completely miss-placed considering this song in particular is the kind of junk the that would suit "kids today" as far as I can tell.

So this Keenan guy, does interesting ****, is typically foul just for the sake of being foul, varies heavily in the types of genres he covers, voice of puscifer, dresses like a f***ing moron and should keep his shirt on for the sake of everyone alive. It seems that in general, even if I like the instrumentals in some of his songs, his singing is exactly what puts me off.

What ever the case. This song in particular sucks. I hate Linkin Park, I hate everything, etc. Yeah I probably mis-named the genre or just generalized, but I can't be expected to keep track of 50 different genres I hate.

Yeah, let's get back on topic. A TF continuity discussion could go on till the end of time.

Wait a minute - so I presume Hasbro won or bought the rights back for the name "Vortex"? Because for the movies he was Blackout and I heard they couldn't use Vortex. Somebody has to know this. Btw - a LC Blackout would be killer - they so need to make him. I'd buy.

Is Vortex unique enough to keep? It's a common word, right? Blackout in the movies was just yet another B name though, as 4 out of the 7 Decepticons had B names.

They used the name "Vortex" for the Universe/ROTF Bruticus Maximus figure. Brawl was the only one who had his name written as "Decepticon Brawl".

Though, it's Takara who has to use the "Decepticon" prefix for Vortex, as evidenced by their DOTM "Decepticon Vortex".

Brawl, Blast Off, Blackout (if they use it), and... Bruticus? And he wouldn't be on the shelf anyway? Which 4 & 7 Decepticons are you talking about?

He meant movie Decepticons. Brawl, Bonecrusher, Barricade, Blackout.

And there were 8 Decepticons. Those four, plus Scorponok, Megatron, Starscream, and Frenzy. Not counting all the AllSpark mutations, that is.

Ha - thanks. A little bizarre that 'Decepticon Brawl' was used since the first live action movie had a Brawl for the toyline - no adjectives in front. Hasbro are weirdos

Actually, for the first movie the main toys were called "Decepticon Brawl" as well. "Deep Desert Brawl" is one whole trademarked name if I may add.
