why you might get 3 FOC shockwaves

ya might be thinking that 3 is a bit much considering you are not troop biulding. but, he was in war for cybertron was he not? we only got 2 decepticons from war for cybertron. soundwave and megatron.
get a fall of cybertron shockwave to go with the war for cybertron

he is also in fall of cybertron so that is the main reason to get him.

next he would fit in to the neo/classics collection very well. in G1 he never had an earth form so he could fit in perfectly.
i am getting 3, anyone else getting 3? or possibly more?

I'm just getting the one. Unlike Hasbro, I don't consider WFC or FOC part of Aligned, but rather an off-shoot of G1. Yes, he'll be Classics Shockwave

I think one would be enough. Having the same toy in different displays is kind of redundant. But if you're into it....

I only do that with repaints  Classics Rodimus for instance:

RtS Rodimus: Universe 2003 display
United Rodimus Clear Blue: Special Editions shelf
Henkei Hot Rodimus: planned for Classics shelf, Movie Autobots
United Rodimus Prime: planned for Classics shelf, movie Autobot Leaders alongside Ultra Magnus ;)

Why? I can understand using it for a Classics display, but why have a WFC and a FOC display? FOC is the sequel to WFC, so naturally they should be on the same shelf anyway.

Yeah, those are repaints, not the exact same thing in several displays.
If you buy several of exactly the same, it seems like a waste, unless you're plan is reselling them later on.

And lets face it, with all the online stores selling Transformers it's less profitable for fans now. You have to have something really rare or really in demand to make it worthwhile to sell Transformers. Fan based sales and trading are far surpassed by stores like Seibertron's sponsors now. And there is nothing wrong with that, don't get me wrong, but it just operates differently now as opposed to as recently as when the 2007 movie figures came out escalating to the point it is now.

Have we even seen photos of the actual Shockwave toy(?), so to say it would warrant like 3 purchases is jumping the gun(yeah, that was a pun).
I had high hopes for DOTM Shockwave and I honestly wasn't impressed with his Voy toy, the Cyberverse is really nice for it's size though.

Exactly. It'd be like having G1 Toon and G1 Comic collections separate. You'd buy double the toys, with maybe...maybe, one or two where repaints allowed you to differentiate.

I'll be getting 2. One for Classics and one for The WFC/FoC Display. I'll probably get one Hasbro and one TT just so there's some difference, no matter how small.

I'll be getting two. One for robot mode, one for alt mode.

You people and your "class picture" displays....

If you inherited the ability of trilocation that goes a long way towards explaining why you're Almost as Awesome as Japanese Car Stunt Spiderman....

I've learned I'll probably never be as cool as him. He managed to pull it off when they were moving the camera to a new angle, he simply moved from his original place in the back to a new place, so when they stitched all the pictures together, there he was - in triplicate.

Maybe 0. I already have my classics Shockwave and I'm not going to replace him. All of my WFC figures were customized (besides Soundwave) and migrated to my classics so future FOC will be the same.

Wait! Maybe I will get one and keep it until I know whom to repaint to.

Actually, I kinda do that but not quite. I don't doible up normally but I separate into cartoon and other. I've got Autobots, Decepticons, Season 2 Bots & Cons, Movie, Autobot Beyond, and Decepticon Beyond. The last two have your Nightbeats, Hot Shots, and Star Sabres and your Deathsaurus, Straxus, Acidstorms, Lugnuts.ImageThough I have considered putting some of the Cons up on the Season 1 shelf because it's practically empty while I'm waiting for MTs Giant and the KOToys Reflector I ordered two months ago.ImageStill, the only reason to get two is if this official one were good enough to replace my custom one. Or make an Impactor out of.

This topic title fooled me, I thought Hasbro was maybe gonna give us THREE SHOCKWAVES for FOC.

FOC, that would have been nice!

I separate kinda like that myself. I have season 1, season 2, TF:TM, and then it gets tricky with Season 3 and "expanded universe", my version of the Wreckers, etc. But I've been finding that I'm needing to separate some according to past and future now with the G2 guys and some of the WFC type toys.

*edit*
oh, and one Shockwave.

I'll move Energon Shockblast to the Decepticon Hall of Fame shelf.

I am planning to get a second bookcase and having one be Autobots and Decepticons with some back and forth (like my the Movie figures staying where they are and doing G2 as their opposite) but right now the Cons aren't really justifying it. Still, it'll be nice to have Beast Wars and Animated on display again. Now that's something I could get behind. If Hasbro wants all the figures under one umbrella, that means they'd be able to slide in a Classics Waspinator or Blackarachnia or an Animated figure or two.
I'm holding judgement on a WFC/FOC shelf until I see Grimlock and they get to some Seekers. Bruticus alone will go a long way but Shockwave will have a home somewhere.

I just realized something. 1 Optimus, 1 Jazz, 1 Shockwave, and 5 Combaticons is all 8 figures for the series. Does that mean Grimlock is dropped? Sorry if this was covered elsewhere.

If I'm right the Combaticons haven't been officially announced. There is the possibility they'll be in a giftset of some kind. Even if they, Shockers, Jazz and the WFC Prime repack (oh, okay, maybe they made a new mold) are the 8 that have been announced so far, I'd say there is a chance we might see more.

+1 that doesn't understand why you'd need one for both WFC and FOC... That's like needing like 6 voyager Optimus Primes...one for Classics, another for Universe 2.0, another for Generations, another for RTS, and then a couple Henkeis for that and United.

What I don't understand is wasn't it said there would be 8 Generations figs, 4 of which would be FOC? So who knows what we're actually getting...
