Scalextic will be releasing a limited edition 1976 Chevrolet Camaro Bumblebee slot car. The slot car is priced at £49.99, see additional details below.

In the 2007 live-action movie, Transformers (directed by Michael Bay), Bumblebee is sent to earth by Optimus Prime ahead of the other Autobots to gather information, find the keeper of the secrets of the All Spark and remain hidden.

Bumblebee is assigned to guard Sam Witwicky from the Decepticons and poses as a dilapidated 1976 Chevrolet Camaro – Sam's first car.

When Mikaela Banes (Sam’s crush) criticises the poor condition of Bumblebee’s vehicle mode, he scans a passing Camaro Concept and transforms.

Since his conversion from 1976 Camaro to 2006 Camaro Concept, Bumblebee’s alternate mode continues to evolve throughout the film series and appears as one of the lead characters in the 2011 film, Transformers: Dark of the Moon.

This model is presented in a battle weathered livery. Available in all terrortories excluding Australasia and North America.

This is a limited edition of 2,000 models.

Boy, i would love to have a HA or leaderclass of this mold, with sam and mikaela. The deluxe version has such huge gaps, hasbro make one. Don't let takara be first. I want sound, a dirty looking bumper, missles and a whole lot of dirt.

This is a limited edition of 2,000 models.

What do you think they'll do with the 1,999 that are left unsold?

Funny thing is, it looks like Scalextric got the year wrong. The slot car is the 70-73 body type, which is a better looking body but isn't what they used in the movie. I kinda wish they had. :-?

Funny thing is that the model is using a 70 Camaro, so the nosie/hood/back window and Tail lights are wrong
