I was really looking forward to Que, Leadfoot, and Soundwave too. Since this happened right after the FE fiasco there's a lot of trust lost. Instead of looking forward to upcoming figures now we'll be wondering whether or not we'll ever see them. "Wow that looks awesome, I can't wait to get it!" has now turned to "That looks great, I hope they actually release it. I'm not holding my breath though." Collecting has lost a lot of it's appeal because of Hasbro's recent incompetence.

Ditto. Why do we bother looking up what's "up and coming" if the only way to get it is to blow four times what its worth, or not get it at all?

Transformers as a brand has been cancelled. Quick Change will be the hot new ticket.

Man I can't help but laugh!!. It's like the praying mantis is saying "Please buy me, I'll be your friend since Hasbro won't."

This has happened time and time again since the days of Unicron Trilogy.

What makes it worse is the amount of mulitple lines running concurrent with each other. And again the lack of/crazy distribution that Hasbro put together IMO has put a sour tatse in retailers mouths. It also seems apparent with each movie that comes out, the more screwd up the lines get. Hasbro is going to ride the residual of the movies forever.

Did I buy any of DOTM, hell no!!. I'm still enjoying ROTF which is the best of the movie lines to me.

I used to be a serious Hot Wheels commector but Mattel screwed over the RLC members in 2006 and silenced us if we dare speak out the truth of their own promotion. I buy Hot Wheels for the youngest son because he likes cars, but no more am I a serious collector.

Transformers has now gotten out of control because they won't admit they need to restructure the lines and characters ie Bumblebee.

Again, this is why I have stop collecting TF's on a whole. I'm sick of the lines and zany marketing that if I see it I will buy it, if I don't see it I will not pay high markup.

The best way to hurt Hasbro is not to buy. complaining will get you no where.

Well, I completely agree, hence why I'm stating on here that I won't buy TFs until this **** gets figured out (note initial post). Hoping others would follow.

I can't worry about all this. I know the toys are for kids, that's who buys most of them, that's who hasbro sells them to. Collectors are lucky if we ever get anything for us. Things didn't get released, nothing we can do about it. I feel like this is TF fans version of rioting when their sports team loses. Yea, you can get all upset and use your energy show casing it. In the end, won't change what happened though.

To be fair, it's not entirely Hasbro's fault on what gets priced. It depends on the retail. You can get an Animated Voyager at TJ Maxx for $12.00 as apposed to the $20.00 you payed a year ago.

I too am angry about the U.S Cancellation of both FE and DOTM. But there's always a handy tool called eBay. IDC about the price.

Takara's MP line will be the only line I look forward to in the foreseeable future, as it's a bona fide line created with adult collectors in mind. That, and United and Alternity [if the latter's still alive].

Hasbro's clearly gearing it's mainstream lines towards kids, at least more so than in the past. I'm staying away from those until they ever decide to go back and strike a better balance between kid and adult oriented TF's. Unlikely, but one can dream.

So you want to make a point of not buying Transformers?

That's an easy one...
However, if you'd really like to affect the outcome of their end of year financial reports in hopes of them bowing to consumer demand and releasing figures just to complete your collection, may I suggest gathering a very, very large group of like-minded individuals to boycott the following lines:

Baby Alive
Battleship
Beyblade
Boggle
Busy Basics
Candy Land
Captain America
Chuck and Friends
Chutes and Ladders
Clue
Connect Four
Cranium
Crib Life
Cuponk
Disney
Easy-Bake
Explore N Grow
Family Game Night
Fantastic Four
FurReal Friends
G.I. Joe
Gift Cards
Gloworm
Guess Who?
Hasbro Games
Heroscape
Hi-Ho! Cherry-O
Hungry Hungry Hippos
Iron Man
KRE-O
Lite-Brite
Littlest Pet Shop
Marvel
MEMORY
Mighty Muggs
Milton Bradley
Monopoly
Mousetrap
Mr. Potato Head
My Little Pony
Nerf
Operation
Ouija
Parker Brothers
Play-Doh
Playskool
Rubik's
Scrabble
Sesame Street
Simon
Sit 'N Spin
Sorry
Spider-Man
Star Wars
Strawberry Shortcake
Super Soaker
The Game of Life
The Incredible Hulk
Thor
Tinkertoy
Titanium Series Die Cast
Tonka
Transformers
Trivial Pursuit
Trouble
Twister
U-Build
Weebles
Wolverine
Yahtzee

Really think you'll make a difference by stopping your Transformers purchases?
I thought not.

There's other means to acquire toys other than just retail. If you can't adapt, then simply wait. It's not like you aren't going to get what you want eventually.

There are two reasons that won't work:

A) Your purchases, and the purchases of a few others who might join you, will make no noticeable difference to Hasbro's bottom line. They are a huge company with a wide range of products. It would be like shooting spitballs at an elephant. The elephant won't even notice.

B) If you DID manage to put a dent in TF sales, the likely result would be that Hasbro would think people are losing interest in TFs, and they might respond by making fewer of them, so your strategy could backfire.

yeah I don't see a few of us making any waves by stopping our support of TF's.

Sure they have other lines, but Transformers is there biggest seller. It has the most exposure since 1984. It has 3 blockbuster world wide billion dollar movies, can't say that for the rest of what they have, so with the other lines I'm sure board meetings are still about TF's more than anything.

It's an individual choice to say no, I'm not gonna put up with this crap.

FE figures were originally scrapped toy concepts for the Generations line. Apparently they were brought backed, but not meant as a mainline, but as a "preview".

At cybertron con, Hasbro said they decided to go with the RID figures to make it simpler, as the show was targeting younger kids. I guess it kinda worked, kids are happy with the RID toys, and collectors... even if we did not buy the RID line, Hasbro's income would not be affected at all...

There's always online, albeit they cost 4 times more...

Are you sure about that? Because they look very similar to the Prime characters and the RID toys. Are you saying they based the designs of the Prime animated TV series on those scrapped Generations concepts?

Generations is a bit of a "catch all" line, with stuff like classics style G1 characters, War For Cybertron figures, etc. Prime figures were supposed to be part of that, but no, the show came first and the toys were based on that much like how WFC were based on game designs.

I forgot where they were supposed to be released, but i do know that they scraped the idea of FEs as their mainline as they wanted simpler transformations, and FE became their preview line.

That's been my main problem with Hasbro's designs lately. Simpler and simpler designs, even if the source material uses more complex transformations. Ultimately, you get a toy that looks nothing like the CG models, and end up with a huge amount of kibble.

Supposedly, the simple designs are the kids, but I keep hearing more and more collectors with kids say their sons actually prefer the better looking FE version. My own nephew, for one, keeps eying the FE Arcee I've got on my desktop when my cousin came to visit recently, largely ignoring the RID version his mom bought him.

Always wondered why the DinoBots never combined, they felt like the AutoBots equivalent to the Constructicons, maybe they could all combine to make an AutoBot Trypticon or some such.
