I trying to develop a App for Android and apple to locate transformers toys across the country.
I was wondering what was top ideas for this App.
I know to put a map with a locator service.
Bar-code scanner to scan the toys in.
My idea was when you go in to the store, scan the bar-code of the toy, then say what the store is, how many are on the shelf and how much it is.
It kind of work like the sighting page on Seibertron.com
After you scan the toy in, all the info would go in to the database.
All the info would be provided on a map for you to see, like price store and how many.
Would this be a good idea to move on.

Sounds like a good idea but I'm not sure how many people would actually use it.

Truth is if scalpers got their hands on this app, collectors will suffer more. Hmm.. what do you think?

I believe this.
It would really hurt the collector and kids. The people sustaining their livelihoods on ebay would have less work to do to and ruin the fun of
of the hobbyist. It would be awesome though if it were not used for abuse.
Maybe just a basic toy store locator app that could break down into genre.
I would imagine that exists though.

If I find a gem that I want but can't afford I tend not to tell anyone hoping it will still be there when I can pick it up. I have a buddy who almost lost a friendship over telling one of his friends who collects cards about some rookie card or whatnot and his buddy went out and picked it up. His friend knew he was going to get it in a few days, but bought it anyway. Wow, talk about drama.
I told him next time just stay low key and don't tell anyone about it and the odds will stack in his favor.

Very good point made. This would give that asshole, sorry of a sorry comic book store owner I know what he would need to screw everyone over by charging 80 for a 15 dollar toy.........

Honestly, I'd download it, then never use it, mostly cause I'd forget about even having it cause I'm uber selective about what Apps come out of the general directory on my Android.

But if I find one of a figure in a store and scan it and another collector does the same, it'll update as 2. Plus, there's no updating when for something sells. It could read as in stock for months after the item was sighted and bought by a kid an hour later. It's a good idea but falls apart at a point.

Now an app that tells you what's in Targets back room by comparing the backroom codes to the updated sold inventory or something like that? That might work.
