try using the correct spelling - 'safety'. Maybe that will improve your search results.

Putting bright orange plugs on fake toy guns, even if they don't look like real guns (classiscs Megatron), and usually the warning labels talk about choking hazards for children under 3 or 5 years of age. Oh, and don't put plastic bags over your heads kids.

That's the stuff I need.
Guess what I'll be taking as a reference. :)

also, a child is less likely to choke on a 3 inch missile than a one inch one

yeah i'm serious :???: . won't a child just swallow the smaller one and have thebigger one stuck in thier throat?

Try searching for info on the Turbomasters and Predator Transformers lines. They were banned in the US due to safety concerns, yet were released throughout Europe and the Pacific without a problem.

I guess no one cares if European children choke to death on toys. Sad.

Actually you should research Battlestar Galactica toys, because they are the reason many of our laws about firing missiles, spring strength, missile length and so forth.

Put it this way, when they were first made they had these little red flying missiles that they shot out of the nose. They would fly fast and powerfully.

I think a child shot one into his mouth and choked on it, and sadly died.

They changed all BSG toys after that. NO firing missiles, just this missile looking thing that fires about a 1/4 of an inch out and then you can snap it back in, and shoot it out a 1/4 of an inch again.

That may not be the 'actual' story, but I do know that they BSG toys of the late 70's were changed from missile firing to non-firing, and I thought that was why.

A smaller piece of plastic would become lodged in the throat, much easier than a reissue TF missle.

Today's missiles are about the length of a finger, and if it got fired into the mouth, not only would there be less of a chance of swallowing it, but you could actually reach in by hand and remove it yourself. The smaller missile is too small to reach, but just big enough to block a windpipe.

Dice come with warning as well.

You have to remember, the majority of today's toys are aimed at an audience of 3 and up. (Duplo, which isn't a choking hazard, starts at 3, but you get my point. A toy is a toy.)

A 3 year old is notorious for putting stupid things like Dice in their mouths, and marbles, etc.

don't forget the great translation off of some of the Japanese toy packaging.. "Small Parts. Small Child may cause suffication."

I love that one.

I have a warning label form a Chinese made knockoff Transformer keychain that I always found funny. I scanned it for you. Now let me explain what I think it means. an "annulus" is the inside of a ring. When when the toy box warns "Don't let finger wedge in annulus." they mean don't get your finger caught in the keyrings.

It also has some odd things like saying to keep the package for reference. THIS IS A KEY RING! Have you every wished you kept the package for your keyring?

We also have all the crappy spelling and grammer. It's one of the funniest examples of a badly translated warning label I have ever seen.

Wow that is funny!
I wish I had that as I held my presentation.
