Why are Rescue Bot toys so expensive?

I really want to get my hands on Chase, Blades and Boulder - but they run anywhere from $30 - $45+ online. I can't find them in any stores in real life either. I've been looking for a while now. But why is it only these three that are so expensive (especially now)? Yet, Heatwave, Optimus and Bee are still $12.99?

If I'm reading various sites right; Boulder Chase and Blades are newly released. Give them time.

I think.

Blades was short packed, as well as Boulder i believe
WM still has them as well as TRU
(T) moved them to clearance for a bit, then back to regular price
Amazon had them for $10 for a bit
I got Blades for $10 and Sawyer Storm for .63 with a $5 coupon
the others i am not so interested in but Blades is pretty cool

Those particular figures are expensive because you're probably looking at ones being sold on a secondary market like eBay. They're all $12.99 (or thereabouts) in stores.

Scalpers. They're making it to stores, though, so keep looking!

Boulder's price isn't the only thing unpurchaseable about him. He's not even for sale any store I look for him in! Nowhere in person or online. And he's not only the last Rescue Bot I need, but the one I wanted the most! :BANG_HEAD: :BANG_HEAD: :BANG_HEAD:

I'm just wondering, do these really have a place in peoples collections, or are they bought out of compulsion because they are TF related?
This ? excludes purchases for small children. No kid over 4 would want to be seen with these around their friends. At 5 kids are entering Kindergarten and try to distance themselves from "baby toys".
I just don't see an inherent adult desire for these outside toy reviews, obsessive compulsion or ultimate completionism.

I'm slightly interested in boulder, because he's in construticon colors, but the simplistic design is a turnoff. I try not to judge what people buy, because it's easy to do. Someone who doesn't buy toys can easily see me getting any transformer as childish. So, being that these are for even younger kids, who cares?

See I find the simplistic design kinda cool. Of course my 4 year old loves them, but I think there's an ease to them and a clear idea of what they wanted to make. Blades is just a cool toy, I'm sure if I could get my hands on Chase and Boulder I'd think so too.

I personally want them because I'm a huge fan of Rescue Bots. I would love to have them in my collection because I think they would just be cool and fun to have. Not to mention, they are a one-of-a-kind Transformer toy with only being able to transform in one click of a button. I think that's evolution right there of the toy line from the 1980s.

Ladybug, I think you hit the nail on the head. The one-click transformation is a step forward, plus it gets my boys an entry without throwing them in the deep end of the deluxe toys or the flimsiness of the legion figures.
