G1 Mirage help?

I don't want to be vulgar, but I have to be. My stupid ass sister broke my G1 Mirage at the waist, and I have an idea how to fix it, but I have a few issues. 1: I have some small screws to replace the waist mechanism, but I don't know how to get the torso apart; and 2: I have already tried to super glue it back together, but it failed. If you have any tips, or ideas, they would be much appreciated. Thank you! :???:

I suggest finding a junker you can use to replace the broken part. Most G1 come apart easily because they used a lot of screws, make sure you haven't missed unscrewing one

Just like Discharge said. Give this a go, you might get it cheap enough:

If not, maybe grab a KO version

You may want to try this. That is how some guy fixed his.

Time: 10 minutes
Skill: 2/10
Tools: See below

You can see here the little nub sticking up.

http://www.danmaher.com/pictures/d/29100-2/2.jpg

And the little divot that it's supposed to be connected to. This is where it snapped off.

http://www.danmaher.com/pictures/d/29097-2/3.jpg

Remove these 2 screws from the back.

http://www.danmaher.com/pictures/d/29094-2/4.jpg

The 2 blue waist pieces will separate.

http://www.danmaher.com/pictures/d/29091-2/5.jpg

Here's that nub sticking up out of one of the waist pieces. You can see how it's supposed to spin inside this waist piece.

http://www.danmaher.com/pictures/d/29088-2/6.jpg

Holding the little blue nub in between my fingers with the waist piece that it came out of behind.

http://www.danmaher.com/pictures/d/29085-2/7.jpg

Laying the blue nub into place for a test fit. Looks good.

http://www.danmaher.com/pictures/d/29082-2/8.jpg

Apply super glue only to the divot area. And I cannot stress this enough, use a very, very, very, VERY small amount. Basically what I did was squeezed the tube ever so gently to let out the smallest particle amount of glue that could exist as matter and that was enough. Please, please don't use too much glue.

Pop the nub into place and make absolutely sure you don't get any on your fingers. If you do, it'll get all over the nub, that'll stick to your fingers and won't stay in place, it'll get all over Mirage....just don't do it. :D

Wait 5 minutes and reassemble.

Not too sound too incredibly rude SpacerAM2, but in case you haven't read my first post in this thread, or if you just don't have a brain, I clearly stated that I've already tried to super glue my Mirage back together. I actually used that exact forum post you have posted to fix it, and it failed. So please, for the rest of us, do not post something that will be entirely useless, as it has already been tried.

I've got that KO. It's pretty good except for having 2 left hands. But, it's possible to trade parts from it to fix yr original one. :BOT:

Hey, not to be rude here, but how was he supposed to know? He was just trying to help. Take it from me, you don't make friends by being a total jerk. Your pissed, I get that. I would be too. But biting peoples heads off won't get you anywere. Just chill.
There are other ways to fix this. Maybe post pictures to give us a better idea on how exactly its broken?

Dude, WTF?!

Look, Mr 4 posts, don't be coming in here mouthing off to people like that! He was just trying to help you since YOU seem to lack enough brains to keep your vintage TFs out of the hands of your sister. That is totally NOT cool, and if you talk that way to people OUTSIDE of the internet you probably get knocked on your arse more often than not!

Cobalt Prime, I understand where you're coming from, but I had to say something. The guy clearly didn't even read the initial post, so his was utterly useless. True, In real life I would maybe get knocked out, but that is irrelevant. I said what I said and that's that. If you want to get upset about it, go ahead. And I should know better than that, but guess what, you can't have control over everything. And sometimes things happen. I apologize if it came off bad, and it was sort of supposed to, but I will try to not let it happen again.
