BeastProwl's FE rant. Nothing but steam.

I'm at my wits end here. Theres no way to get a FE Bulkhead or Prime for less than the price of one of my damn kidneys. Arcee and Screamer go for EXTREME prices too. It's insane. And it's all hasbro's fault. Not everyone lives in canada. So why is everything being released there? Have they ever answered why they did this? I know that they said they "might" release them in the US, but what if they don't? as a long time buyer of Hasbro's goods, I feel that, when I walk down the toy isle and see "Powerizer Prime" and "PRiD BB and CJ" and I can't help but to think, "Why am I being forced to settle for less!?" I'm not made of cash, quite the opposite. If these were released here, Id'e be able to buy them Dirt Cheap. Same goes for the un-released movie figures. It just sucks. I just needed to vent. Theres no way for me to obtain these figures now, and I know that. I also know that it's not fair. That's really just it. Kids may like Gimmicks. but why Isn't transforming enough? Theyre called transformers, right?

As Hasbro said loads of times, it was open for sale, US retailers did not take it. It was released everywhere in Asia.

This. Always blame the stores themselves, not Hasbro.

US retailers only took the 1st wave of deluxes (BB, SS, Arcee) These 3 were on HTS.
As for the Voyagers and Cliffjumper, im sure they shipped all out of the US, since retailers in US did not want um, as stuff goes on HTS after they are spotted in-stores.

I disagree.

Hasbro shares the blame. Their marketing department failed to convince stores that these were good toys. Then they failed plan 'B' to find a way to incorporate these figures in revised packaging with the RID stuff.

True, but if kids had a choice between plain Optimus Prime or Optimus Prime with fancy lights, at the same price, what would they go for?

Prime with lights. The reasoning behind making RID molds were to make it appeal to kids more, using simpler transformations. To quote what they replied at Cybertron Con "Have both a vehicle and robot that is fun to play with in both modes".

So maybe you can blame Hasbro for not checking with kids if they prefer the FE molds? Lego always asks for kid's opinions on their products. (Except when they killed Bionicle :( )

Just wait. Hasbro said they're going to try their best to release the figures later in the Prime line somehow. And if they don't, in a few months the prices of the First Edition figures should go down. There really isn't a shortage of figures, there's just a huge demand.

Also, we US fans can't really complain. This is pretty much the only time in 10 years that we didn't get figures before anyone else. And I bet there've been plenty of figures we've gotten that the rest of the world didn't.

Kids care less than people try to make it out. Kids take what kids are given.
Offering with or without electronics is an invalid argument as most "kids" aren't hitting the forums day in and day out, they won't know the options were there until they are older, and that's only if they stay in the game.

Counterpunch is right. Hasbro could easily fit them into the regular RID line, and they still may. Seriously these are just starting to come out. People freak out because they've been looking at these things for months, in all actuality
it's still the 1st wave. Botcon still is going to happen, hopefully someone asks Hasbro's panel about the prospect and they won't be overly cryptic.

You can't trust Hasbro on their word. They've made promises on toys before and they never released them. Animated, an entire wave. RTS, Rumble/Frenzy, among others.

The prices won't go down. They were released in certain markets and the cost of transporting them is going to keep the prices high. Stores all over the world have sold out and there have been no restocks. F.E.'s pretty much a done deal.

Granted, this is for HA Soundwave, but DISCONTINUED DUE TO VENDOR NOT PROVIDING CONTENT sounds more like Hasbro simply didn't fulfill any orders.

That can't be true, the FE figures we got flew off the shelves so obviously they were a hot item. Hasbro just didn't bother to release the rest in the US.

Plain Optimus. When I was a kid, I hated crap like that in my Transformers. Still do today.

I think this whole frenzy around the FE's finally making sense...
2012. End of it all. I see now why so many people are getting their knickers in a knot over some toys. Well, get cracking folks if you want your FE's before December... 'cause after that, it won't matter what you pay for it!

Well, maybe not laugh, more like shout "PAH! You know nothing of suffering!" and break out the hard stuff and have a good cry. It's the miserable weather, all this cloud coverage lowers the mood.

Actually, the Mayan calendar didn't take leap years into account (the earth takes about 365.25 days to circle the sun) so by their calculation the end has already been and gone. >:oP

England got Windcharger, Powerglide, Onlaught, Prowl, Sunstreaker and someone else first so it's happened in the UK twice, but it's true, America gets stuff the rest of the world doesn't.

Australia had Windcharger in abundance. Wasn't hard to find him at all.

Probably could have scalped a few to the Yanks, but you know, that would have resulted in more wah wahs. Image

This rant is pretty tame.....

You should light a RID Prime on fire or something, then I'd be impressed.

i bit the bullet and got the last 3 that i needed. they were prime, bulkhead and cliffjumper. cliffjumper was not that bad, 45 bucks, prime was 54, and bulk head was 84. i knew i would never have an other chance to get them so i did it then. but the head crest to my arcee broke and i managed to glue it back on but the glue took off some of the amazing paint. so getting a replacement is out of the question. so i am instead getting the RID one. they are outragous prices, when i saw how much those 3 were i about had a stroke. and i dare not even look for a FE vehicon. :HEADHURTS: besides the RID one is better.

sorry to burst the proverbial bubble but even if retailers had ordered the first edition stuff and even if hasbro had enough stock to meet demand the fact remains they would have been severely short packed with 4-6 bb's per case of deluxe and 3 out of 4 voyagers being prime so youd still be paying huge markups on many of them.
also some of the same people crying over these first editions would be bitching we didnt get the superior vehicon.no matter how this turned out there be needless whining. >:oP
