so really, no Hasbro MP-10?

I kind of figured we would get a MP-10 sans trailer from Hasbro as a TRU exclusive by now. Anyone think it's still possible a some point? Seems like they are moving on with the Takara MP line and the odds are not looking good for Hasbro to go back and have a domestic release now.

Am I the only one that expected to hear an eventual US release?

What bother me a little is I'm sure a Hasbro MP-10 will come with neuteured smokestacks.
Oh well, I bet a 3dr party company will make a pair od manly die-cast Smokestacks mod that go with it.

Has there even been the slightest hint of a Hasbro release? Any MP's are Takara only, folks.

He's the flagship character of the entire franchise. Of course we'll get one. MP's: Starscream, Skywarp, Grimlock and Rodi all made it onto shelves outside Japan.

It's release back in September has yet to progress past a BotCon. I'd wait till after this years to pass your judgement on whether or not they are doing anything.

We're getting a Prime. Bet my left kidney on it. Really... I'll take it out myself if we don't.

You're forgetting that Hasbro has become noticeably worse at sales and distribution lately.

You're basically saying all Masterpieces are Takara-only, meaning they were never released outside Japan, right? Wrong.

The problem with your argument, rha, is that, bar megatron, your list is nothing but repaints. Most of which are pointless repaints that would sell horribly in America. Heck, Skywarp sold horribly and he's a fairly popular character in the fandom. Can you really blame Hasbro for not giving us repaints? Plus, the only reason we did not get Megs is because of silly toy gun regulatory laws. MP 10 is a completely new mold of a flagship character who hasbro loves ALMOST as much as BB. Thinking that we will not ever see MP 10 in some form is silly.

Please let There be one, and please let it be TRU exclusive. I live in Asia, yet that thing runs around $300+. I have no use for the trailer, so i would not mind getting just the Prime for the price of Rodimus $179.90, now $129.90 ...

Hmm, speaking of which, is Rodimus any good for that price? Might consider getting it to kick of my MP collection after getting Mp-11

Oh he will....he will be revealed by Hasbro, shown in packaging, given a release date, sold in maybe one obscure TRU THEN.... only available to our fellow Canadians. Riots and online rants will surly ensue.

cant wait

The Takara version.

I see the point of the recolors, I do. However, price is a factor. Rodimus lost his behind and MP-04 has a trailer, which was never seen in the western market. Strip MP-10 of his trailer and you might get a release. If anything, THAT is what will happen.

The current trend in the Hasbro market is very child orientated. Generations is tying in to an upcoming release and foregoes it's original focus. The fans are still heard (FOC Bruticus), but the big releases are kept off. No Jetwing Prime, no Striker Prime, no HA Soundwave,. no leader DOTM Megatron and Shockwave. Stuff is getting to be a lot smaller with Botshots, deluxes and voyagers (those are even few and far between). Hasbro is playing safe for the market, it seems. MP-10 really is a farcry considering all this.

Takara always markets more towards an older adience, Hasbro is even retreating form it nowadays.

And that make me sad.

Still, who can blame them?
The 100$ Ultimate Optimus Prime sold poorly and was quickly marked down.
MP Rodimus and Unicron where TrU exclusives which mean some overstock happen and they moved to clearance anyway. Le't also forgo the French of the freacking packaging so a whole province cant buy them. Not to mention the FE fiasco.
Bad, BAD planning from Hasbro.

But Hasbro is not alone in this bullshit.
The toy stores THEMSELVES are also to blame. Overstocking a line, then refusing to store the new stuff. Amarican and Canadian stores sell toys ONLY to kids. I tried to have a rebate on a TF because the packaging was smached and the manager looked at me in disdain saying "we sell toys, not collectible items". HEY ASS-WHOLE OF A MANAGER, CAN YOU EXPLAIN WHY ALL THESE TrU EXCLUSIVES-LIMITED-EDITIONS EXIST AT ALL?! HUH?! HUH?! :-x

I still think any "store exclusives" is bullshit because it just limit the distribution and fore many buyers to rely on Ebay scalpers.

I bet that if any more MP come out, it will be "X-Exclusive" and will NEVER come out in Quebec. I DONT GIVE A DAM IS THE TOY WILL NOT BE WORTH THAT MUCH IF THERE'S TOO MANY OF IT ON THE MARKET! I JUST WANT IT AT A REASONABLE PRICE WITHOUT FEEDING A SCALPER! And if there's a defect in the toy, I want to be able to return it to my local store for another one without hassle.

Why is it so complicated to have such a simple thing? :michaelbay:

I'm with Mykltron on this. Under normal circumstances a US release would be a guarantee, but with the way they've been doing things lately who knows.

It was poorly designed and overpriced. I bought one and regretted it 20 minutes later. Traded it for a MP Rodimus.

MP Rodimus and Unicron where TrU exclusives which mean some overstock happen and they moved to clearance anyway.

Rodimus was, but I doubt Unicron ever saw clearance. he was too popular. Unless you're talking about the original Armada Unicron from '03 or '04.

Le't also forgo the French of the freacking packaging so a whole province cant buy them.

This might be a personal problem for you, but to quote a certain evil leader, "the needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few." And it would simply cost too much for Hasbro to send French packaging to Quebec only, and English to the rest of Canada.

Not to mention the FE fiasco.

Yeah, that was bad, even for a toy company whose main objective is to sell to kids. Combine that with no DotM Leader Megatron, (or the general cancellation of the Movie Trilogy line) and Hasbro can suck it.

But, to answer the OP, I figure MP-10 will be released this summer or fall like MP-09 was, without a trailer and 6 months later than the Jap version. We'll see. (I won't be buying it anyway... )

Oh whoops, that's two toys of out hundreds that you couldn't get in your home province. Not like you can't take a road trip out of town or have people out of province hook you up.

You cry about scalpers and the FE Fiasco, but you were the one who happily sold six FE figures for $300 for 250% profit. Cool story bro.

Some people are a little tense about this stuff. HasTak has been pissing off more and more people lately. Also, your comment did come off as a bit condescending, especially with that "folks" added at the end. Just sayin'...

I'm with Blurrz on this. I'd wait till after BotCon comes and goes with no announcement before I'd start getting concerned about a Hasbro one not happening.
