The last straw - no yellow rims for Knockout!

So, we see the package image of Knockout, and on the back, his rims are yellow!!

But alas - in hand, his rims clearly are plain plain black.

Now, why can the McDonalds toy get it right?

I was quiet during the FE fiasco. I stood on the sidelines as all complained about the incredible shrinking size of deluxes in the RiD and DOTM line. But this... casually omitting the most stylizing trait of one of the great new original characters... now, I am driven to the point of posting a new topic and declaring: I will not buy Knockout! I'm not buying him and painting his wheels, I'm not buying any stoopid labels either.

But they don't transform.
If you are trying to complain about the lazy paint job, look at Ratchet.

In a couple months, reprolabels will rectify the situation I'm sure.

All I know is that first you've got to get mad. You've got to say, 'I'm a HUMAN BEING, God damn it! My life has VALUE!' So I want you to get up now. I want all of you to get up out of your chairs. I want you to get up right now and go to the window. Open it, and stick your head out, and yell, 'I'M AS MAD AS HELL, AND I'M NOT GOING TO TAKE THIS ANYMORE!'

Totally agreed, one of the characters most defining characteristics.
I have a smart *ss idea; instead of putting "actual product and colors may vary" on the back in fine print, it should say "actual product may be a piece of sh*t!"

Yep. Annoying, but adding things like silver or in this case yellow to the rims doesn't bother me too much.

Seriously, the lack of paint on his rims are the least of this fig's problems.
His whole torso is basically non-existent. Just his head propped up on his hood.
And for whatever reason best known to Hasbro, he has two slits cut into his windscreen.
And those ugly ports on the sides of his altmode. This isn't even a DOTM toy; must they really carry over that "stealth mode" thing into TFP? At least make it concealed like DOTM deluxe Bumblebee, and Sideswipe.

Amazing how a single paint app not being there can be 'the last straw'...
It's HASBRO. You should EXPECT missing paint apps from what's on the package.

Not buying a figure just cos they left a bit of colour off the wheels seems a little extreme. It is also completely and utterly YOUR LOSS. If you don't buy it I don't think the world will tremble.

Shouting to the masses gets you nowhere. Shouting with the masses, well, that still gets you nowhere. He looks fine to me. I'd like for the rims to be painted but I won't pass if they aren't.

I couldn't care less about the color of the rims. The reasons I don't like this figure are: (1) The car is a very boringly generic car design. (2) The color scheme is ugly as sin.
I'm certainly not MAD about it, though. Some figures I like, some I don't. This one I don't like. So I won't buy it. That's all.

agreed, though I will add I dislike the half-assed hip/lower torso molding.
I've pretty much decided that if I want Knockout I'll get him in a smaller incarnation. Legion class if the molds are really bad, simply so I can have him at as low a cost as possible, commander class if that version proves to look the nicest out of the lot. Won't save much money on the commander one but a better looking mold would make it more worth while than a deluxe mold I don't like.

I'm disappointed, but it was expected. They've been dropping the ball on paint apps for the past several years.

I never even noticed he had gold rims until someone mentioned that the figure didn't. If it's such a big problem then just paint them yourself, I've done it on a ton of figures.

Um, no. Sunburst Yellow is really translucent and absolutely no good for the job. Iyanden Darksun from the outgoing Foundation range or it's replacement from the new Base range, Averland Sunset would be far more suited to the task.

Gist of what I was trying to say is that alot of Hasbro paint defects or neglections can be fixed up by a quick and easy paintjob.

Fair enough. That Sunburst is really useless though. From experience I'd only recommend it for mixing highlights or for glazes.

Haha well I'll take your word for it and try your other colors you suggested when I'm doing more customs.

As soon as I saw in-hand images of Knockout, I imagined Reprolabels wringing their hands together and saying "Yessssssss....."
