If it was a Takara version I would have bought it. Those upside down stickers ruin it for me...I know it's nitpicking, but that's just me.

I've got two so far. Whats upside down on them? I don't seem to see it.

When you put the tower up, the Autobot logo is upside down. The Korean version is actually not made by Takara but by a company called SonoKong in Korea. I bought a SonoKong figure once, Takara version was much better.

The SonoKong Brave figures are actually nice, but their stickers suck.

Just looked mine over. Yep, only sticker upside down is the autobot sticker in tower mode. All I have to say about that is....big whoop! :D

Just looked my other one over. One is Takara, the other is Sono.

I'd never know the difference without the sticker...lol.

The plastic on the SonoKong figures is prone to yellowing, which is why I don't buy them. But with Brave Maximus, there's not much white on it.

Yellowing is the enemy.

I'm new to collecting so I don't know about all that. They look exactly the friggin same to me.

I'm REALLY close to buying that because I know I could sell it for more later if i wanted to. But 1) I don't really have the room and 2) My girlfriend would probably move out if I had 3 of them. :D

It's all a learning experience. One thing you'll start noticing is plastic quality and so forth. When I got into it, I couldn't tell the difference. Now if I see a hint of yellowing or something is out of place I can't buy it. I guess it is obsessive, but that's what happends after you see so many.

For the SonoKong stuff, the Beastwars era was easy to tell the difference because the boxes are completely different, but the car robots stuff, you have to look at the font, Japanese vs Korean, to tell, or you have to find the little SonoKong version on the box.

The next Maximus I want is the Lucky Draw Brave Maximus, that came with the extra accessories.

Better you than me. I'd probably get thrown in an asylum for having 3 of them. You won't be disappointed. 8)

Since I don't have one, I figured I'd give it a shot. If I regret it later I'll just resell it and either recoup the cost or make a little change on it.

Besides, I've been working on making a Transformers city display for my WSTs and Legends size figures. This will make for a substantially bigger setup than just having Metroplex.

*facepalms*

Why do people still believe that Sonokong makes subpar KO-esque copies of Takara's originals?

They're of course wrong, but they still believe it...

I bought Starscrem (yes, that's the correct spelling) and BB and it was the Sonokong version.

It had the Takara copyright stamps and a friend of mine had the original. We put them side by side and checked them thoroughly....not one, single difference. Not one.

The only visible difference is: misapplied stickers (as in the case of BM), and the packaging.

....the figures themselves are the exact same figure, just licensed for the Korean market.

I have SonoKong Elephant Prime and it is no where near the quality of Takara Elephant Prime...plus it yellowed. That's my only experience with it, so I might of got a bad one, but I won't try it again. I've also heard a lot of mispackagings (like wrong parts, etc.). Plus the stickers really do bother me and that is one difference.

Nice! Is this your first Maximus? If so, becareful of the knee joints, I've caught my fingers many time and he;s one heavy sucker! Enjoy it!

Yep! First one and probably only one unless I'm not satisfied with the Korean version.

I still can't believe I just spent that much on a single Transformer, especially since I'm going to Botcon in a few days. Oh well.

The Korean versions are identical to their Japanese counterparts except for some silly things like Brave Max's stickers. I have the Sono Big Convoy and the BWII Auto Rollers ... they're all in perfect condition.

Where the hell are the Brave Max toy galleries then? :-x

And ugh, Metroplex. He's like the size of the lower part of Max's leg. He would be crushed. I hate Metroplex. Trypticon (or Gigastorm), however, is awesome.

Thank you. Finally.

Now, that's not to say that Getter didn't get the short end of the stick on his figure. I fully believe he got a lemon out of this one. It happens.

However, in general, they are piece for piece, the real deal, same as Takara's.

Not to mention, Takara's mispackaged items before. Some figures missing accessories, some not getting their bio cards (Brave Maximus, oddly enough), and the worst part...some of the figures missing actual pieces off of their bodies. (I'm looking at *YOU* "Masterpiece" Starscream, what with your missing fingers and all...)

Any company can screw up.

Hey, you think that's bad? What about Maximus' nemesis? Scorponok is nowhere near as tall as Maximus, and his head is minuscule to boot.

Lapse Of Reason...Metroplex is Brave Maximus' b****.

Brave is 3x taller than Metroplex.

Good buy man. Good buy.

UPDATE: My Brave Maximus has a "proper" upward-facing sticker in base mode. But the box has Korean script all over it, so it's the Korean version, and I don't care. Bwahahahahaha...
