Okay- so I'm in a but of a quandry. Is there anyone out there who owns both MP-10 Optimus Prime AND MP-01/20th Anniversary/MP-04 Optimus Prime (w/trailer) and if so can someone please give me an honest opinion of which one is TRULY better than the other? I don't want to hear about who has more diecast or plastic, who's bigger, who is more cartoon accurate etc. I just want someone who owns both to tell me which one is the best Optimus money can buy at the present time. I like MP-10 but at $300.00 that's a little too pricey. I can buy the original much cheaper currently by itself and wait and but it a trailer later on and STILL be under $300.00 by about $100.00 or more.
One more question: Does the trailer for MP-01/MP-04 work for the 20th Anniversary MP Prime?
Thank you all and God bless!

I'm sure opinions will vary, but I personally think MP-01 and friends has the better bot mode and MP-10 has the better alt mode. MP-10 probably also has the more interesting transformation, is more posable, and scales better with the direction the MP line is going. Despite all that, if I only were to have one MP figure, I'd probably rather have MP-01 (or 04 or MP-01L) for display since it's bigger and better looking in the mode I would keep him and those versions have the better color and long smoke stacks. When you don't have others to compare it to, bigger is better.
And yes, MP-04's trailer works with the 20th Anni MP. Same mold, just a few detail differences.

It's not really a cut and dry question. The answer at least depends on what you want the figure for.

Hate to admit it, but he's right. What you value more in an MP Optimus is what will really paint which is more worthwhile. Quite frankly I find the original PM prime to be too bogged down by his gimmicks and proportions to be even remotely worthwhile at all. But if you value size, a light up matix chamber, hydraulics, and all that other nonsense then go for it. If on the other hand you value cleaner vehicle and robot modes, and more robust articulation, I'd go for the MP-10.

For me it's a tough call. I think MP-10 mostly wins because he's got more stable joints - 20th Prime and his mold can't support his weight in many poses as all that metal makes him so heavy.

With botcon being a few week away, I rather you hold out awhile longer to see if Hasbro decides to release MP-10. Im hoping they do it sans the trailer. I only display Prime in bot mode, and i'm not going to pay another $75 for a box. MP Rodimus price is reasonable for Prime...

You have a very good point. I would not be surprised if a USA MP-10 release, without the trailer, does happen eventually.
That said, I have the MP-10 and MP-01 and I prefer the MP-10. The smaller size helps fit into a better scale with Alts/BT figures and other Masterpiece. I also believe that we'll eventually see an Ultra Magnus version of MP-10 someday.

I've got MP-01 and I think it's great. Sure no trailer (except that cardboard piece of crap) but since he stands there in robot mode most of the time, whatevs.
Hasbro versions wouldn't do it for me, thanks to the stacks being neutered.
MP-10 just doesn't look as good to me, but that's an opinion and many people feel the opposite, plus it's insanely expensive. $300? Shyeah...

Does it fit better scale-wise? I thought it would actually be too small for the Alts/BTs.
I don't own both figures, only 20th Prime, but I feel MP-10 is the better figure. Although he's smaller, more expensive, and sacrifices gimmicks, he looks much cooler design-wise, much closer to the cartoon and the truck mode is way better. It's a much more modern figure with better design in a lot of ways. If I had the funds to buy one or the other I would definitely get MP-10 over MP-01.
