I recall reading on the back of the box that Energon Tidal Wave had electronic sounds? Can anyone confirm this?

I never bought one, but a google search brought up a pic, I don't think it does.

I can't believe they give it a challenge rating of 4 though, I have most of an Armada version and there is nothing complex about that toy.

If anyone is going to know it will be Counterpunch.

I have the Armada and Energon versions. Neither of which have electronics to my knowledge. If they do, then I feel silly for not knowing.

Tidal Wave has no electronics whatsoever, a standout from other Ultra Class figures at the time (which all have a rating of 4 by standard). He was for all purposes a combining magic mushroom, leaving no room for lights or sound.

He does have a Mini-Con gimmick on the gunship: plugging in Ramjet and sliding him back and forth rotates the guns.

Please Hasbro, tell us again why we couldn't just turn the guns with our hands.

Seriously, these gimmicks costed articulation!

My favorite and best edition IMO is Takara's Shockwave aka Tidal Wave! The over all paint apps are great looking for a large size :CON: and the art on the box is pretty epic too. Also no electro's to speak of either. So should you ever come across one box or no box and priced right get it, it's right in any fans collection...'nuff said! ;)^ :VEHI:

Well, that's all I needed to know. I had Armada Tidalwave, no electronics at all, but I could have swore at my local TRU (Wich had EVERY ultra class fig for $15.00 USD back then) It had said "Electronic lights and sounds!" And that made me want it. I mean, on the back of Energon OP's box it says "Electronic Sounds!" But it also has a light-up matrix that was never mentioned. Nice touch I thought.

What articulation did it cost?? The guns are on his chest.... And the word Cost is already in past tense.

If Hasbro had intended us to move the guns with our hands, they wouldn't have invented roller sk.... minicons.
