Could this be the ultimate Devastator of all time?

Move over Hercules and Giant, the original G1 has reclaimed his glory at least when it comes to size over you two. I had no idea that this behemoth actually existed and when you think of the hours that went into building the thing... . I think it would be interesting seeing this surrounded by other G1 and Neo-G1 figs showing off the awesome scale of this thing.

Even more so seeing a level of scale starting with WST Devy and ending with this huge edition. I know this may sound stupid but I wonder how many pieces this separates into for transport, in 2 or more parts? So the winner of this gem gets to figure out which shelf to cram him on but I suppose in a corner on a type of base would be best :P .

I just thought this would be cool to share especially with those like me that didn't know about this one. It's no wonder CrazyDevy didn't try to go back and make upgrade parts for this old boy huh? :)) :VEHI:

Yeah, I saw this before, it's a 1-of-a-kind custom. Does look pretty cool, even if it could be a bit more detailed.

Much better!

I don't like it, though. He's got the dull surprise thing going on and severly lacks detail.

This. Also, the waist and torso just look all wrong. Like some took a BTA Tremor or Frequenzy, upsized it, and painted it like Devy.

don't think it'd pass the drop test.

I'd have to be a hard core Devastator fan to even realistically consider this.

Now....make a Unicron about the same size for my legends/cybervese class and I'd have to honestly thing that one over.

Does it even transform?

That head sculpt really does ruin the whole figure IMO.

I saw it in person at Botcon 2007. It is an impressive statue in person and a great deal of work must have gone into it. The criticism is harsh. Build a five foot Devastator, then talk.

In all fairness, the dull surprise face kinda ruins it. xD But it looks amazing otherwise!

To be fair, I think for the price it should come with the bikini girls that were photographed posing with it years ago.

Do you build cars before you criticize one and not deceide to buy it so you know the work the manufacturer went through?

All TF's should be sold like that, thank you.

Interesting criticism so far but I mean c'mon, I get it that the detail is what it is. Maybe the detail would have been 100 times greater if this were a MP but maybe that would need actual transformation...yes? :-? Besides this would be huge brick in any G1 fans collection so not too bad, I love my bricks too. It's obvious that this won at Botcon for a reason unless the contest was rigged or bought. :VEHI:

I personally just am not a fan of it. I admire and acknowledge that it was a labor of love on the creators part, but I just don't find it pleasing to my eye. Not to mention that the price tag seems a tad bit out there. Yes it's a one of a kind statue, yes a lot of work went into it ... but two grand worth?

But I do agree with the person who said build a 5 foot Unicron and I may have to break down and sell some organs.

Devy has an "O" face! (Thanks, Office Space)

For what it's worth, I'm sure it took a lot of time to create. Could always use this as a template for a more detailed version if the source material were ever made public.

I'm kinda surprised about all the criticism too. I think it's pretty rad. In the fact that i totally appreciate the guys effort in making this thing and i respect that. I got nothing bad to say about it.

Learn how opinion and criticism work, then shoot your mouth off.

That like saying only people who make movies should be allowed to be critics or that only other painters should be allowed to critique an artist's paintings.

His name is Lapse Of Reason.
(Sorry, couldn't resist, Iv'e got nuth'n against nobody here)
I Like it personally, but I wouldn't BUY it. I mean, if I was filthy rich, and I had like, a treasure room were I display paintings and statues and the like, Ide totally bite. But such isn't the case, so I just have to sit here and look onto it in awe. I do agree the face is a bit... off... but otherwise, for a statue? Not at all bad!

It doesn't transform? I'd rather have a 12" Chinese KO that transforms than a 5' statue that just sits there. I admire the work, but there's no way a non-transforming statue can be considered "the ultimate Devastator of all time".

Yeah, I know how it works. I'm not saying people don't have the right to voice their opinion. I'm currently exercising my opinion too. I just feel the guy deserves a bit more credit than the buckets of piss he's getting here.

I wouldn't pay what he is asking, but I don't think the price is unreasonable. I've paid nearly as much for figures less than a foot tall. I also agree that the head sculpt could be improved, although I remember it looking better in person than how it looks in the photos.
