Ever purchased a figure and forgotten about it?

As the title says, have you ever purchased a figure and forgotten about it?

I was recently cleaning out my closet to move stuff into my brother's old (much bigger) bedroom and found a MISB RID voyager Optimus collecting dust. I honestly have no idea when the RID line was out and I certainly don't remember buying the thing ^^;; I'm usually pretty good at remembering these details, even if it's a rough time range, but this one struck me as an utter surprise <.<

If anyone knows the details on when RID Optimus was around I'd be grateful. Maybe it'll jog my memory.

Anyone ever have an experience like this?

I got a 2nd ultra beast machines jetstorm back around when they came out, in 2000 or so. I meant to return it, but I forgot to. So much time had passed, I figured I couldn't return it.

I still have it, in box, and I don't keep boxed figures. I'm really just not sure why I have it. It's been part of my collection now.

RiD was the 2000 series so it's been there for quite a while!

It's probably a good thing, mine is suffering horribly from chrome wear. :( I really need to get around to finding something good to seal it with...

All the time. My collection has gotten a little larger than i'm comfortable with. In the fact that it's a bit cluttered with impulse purchases that really have no significance to my personal history/nostalgia with Transformers.

Certain figures had me swept up with the intoxicating rhapsody that can be best described as "new toy joy". That of which had worn off rather quickly once in my hand, alas, leaving the figure awkwardly placed on the shelf completely out of context to the rest for a spell. Then promptly removed to sit in a box to be never seen again.

I've now put a lid on such purchases and those figures are now getting donated to the SallyAnne. As it is "Spring cleaning" time.

Classics Skyfire is a good example of a forgotten figure i bought and loved for like 5 minutes and still sits on the shelf but is completely invisible to me cause i completely don't care about him. Anybody want it? i totally forgot i own him till now.

Aww damn. Lol. Then I really have no idea where he came from xD I think he magically poofed into my life xD Thanks for the info. I can't remember having purchased any Transformers (outside yard sales) until the movies came about, simply because I didn't have the money to do so. So... magical Prime it is! *insert fairy wand here*

If you open him up for display, you ought to look into getting RID Ultra Magnus. Their combined mode is pretty boss. :)

Maybe your brother bought it and tried to hide it from you and then he forgot.

So far this hasn't happened to me yet. There are toys in the closet that are waiting to be opened or sell or trade, but I remember them. We also bought toys on sale or clearance that our kids will like and keep them in the closet waiting for their birthday or Christmas. My wife actually do forget what she bought and when kids birthday and Christmas coming she started buying stuffs, I had to remind her what we have in the closet.

If you don't want that Classics Skyfire, I will take him!

I usually don't purchase TF's that I don't really like. Shoot, those things are ripped open the second I get home. Sometimes they don't even make it home before I open them.

I keep forgetting I have a MIB Brave Max. He's in his box and in another bigger box, in the bottom of the closet. (I don't have the room to display him) Any time I check online for any of the Maximus figures, it reminds me, "hey, you HAVE a Maximus!"

I'll have to look into that once I knock some other figures off my list. Thanks!

2001 actually. They had to pull some episodes of the cartoon when 9/11 hit.

The Car Robots line from japan that RID was based on was in 2000, though.

I had envisioned of having a United Scourge and Fracas lead an army of Sweeps (regular Scourge). I bought 2 Sweeps, set them up , etc etc etc then i thought "3 more Sweeps would look kinda cool", anyway, I found 3 more Sweeps, then got sidetracked and packed them in my cabinet to display later. 2 days ago i was going through said cabinet when it hit me "oh yeah, your Scourge display" then i shrugged and closed the door. I'd already filled the space I intended on using...

Something didn't sound right in the OP when you said voyager, as RiD Prime was definitely a leader class figure, then it occured to me that the Classics packaging was also labelled 'Robots in Disguise'. Is his alt mode a firetruck (RiD) or a semi truck (most Primes, probably Classics, circa 2006)?
