How are they planning to paint him for the final battle? People who read spoilers know what I mean...

I'm guessing battle damage.

There is a Robot Heros Jazz that comes packaged with Thundercracker. He doesn't transform, but it is a good incarnation of the character. I had one in my hand today, in fact. Looks good.

Heh, I can make my own "Final Battle Jazz".

Buy 1 spare Jazz
Get 1 good hammer
Apply good hammer sternly and generously to spare Jazz
And *Presto!* Final Battle Jazz.

Very creative.

I have another question. Is there even enough items of Jazz to have a good sized collection of him?

Unfortunately, I don't think there is. Not like all the different Starscreams, Optimus Primes, Megatrons, Galvatrons, out there. All I can think of is G1 Jazz, G2 Jazz, Alternators Jazz, and now Movie Jazz.
EtA: Oh, and there's also the little 3" Titanium Jazz.

I hope Hasbro makes a leader or ultimates scale of Jazz, he really should have more recognition.

Spoilerish:
I guess his "automorph" is push a button on his back and he explodes into pieces.

Actually there are more:
Pretender Classics
Worlds Smallest
MyClone
Universe Spychanger
Heroes of Cybertron
There are one or two more that are escaping me at the moment.

Fast Action Battlers if it hasn't been said.
There might be an Unleashed version of him as well.

Don't forget Stepper... yeah I know it's not really Jazz but it's a beautiful repaint and I mean c'mon - he's the same mold and he's got Gold Chrome Wheels for ****'s sake - he rocks.

Where did you hear that? If it's true I'll be happy.

Does anyone think it's a good idea to collect Jazz?

Oh yeah, it's definitely a good idea!

I actually collect Jazz's myself, but only ones that look a lot like his original form. So that means, I'm not buying the current movie version, but I will be getting the G1 repaint. I also have Alternator (with Reprolabels), G1 Reissue, and World's Smallest. It's a small part of my collection, but I like it.

History collection's another one. I believe that the head has been remoulded into around 3 variations between the G1, G2 and reissue versions so that adds another minor varient. Was there a Jazz bust released at all? Pretty sure that there was a Prowl but I never picked any of those up so I didn't really keep track of what did and didn't make it into the line. Also I don't think anyone's mentioned Legends Jazz yet. There are a few around from over the years.

This seems way to hard to collect him. I need a leader and unleashed version of him!

Well there is definitely a Fast Action Battlers one. I don't know about Unleashed but if there was one coming out (you seem to be happy) and you feel like getting it even though it can't move or transform but has superior detail, then get it. But if you want a toy, then don't.

http://transformers.wikia.com/wiki/JazzWelcome, fellow Jazz fan! I like to collect Jazzes to, although I'm only four figures into my collection. I took a hasty snapshot of them though, in case you'd like to see what they look like together.

The FAB version of Jazz may be a required purchase, since Deluxe Jazz's hands are so damn horrible. I was considering getting the G1 repaint of Jazz, but since I have the regular Jazz now, there is no way I'll be wasting my money on another, the hands/arms ruin the figure for me.
