Pick it up?

Or send it to the guillotine?

It's nice if you like:

-Little TFs to use as named minions instead of army builders
-Sea-themed alt mode TFs
-Clear green Targetmasters/Minicons

It's very solid Scout even ignoring the torso mode. It's not a bad purchase, IMO.

You know I saw it on the peg at TRU one day and I was quick to grab it. So as I made my way towards the check out I was looking at it more and more with every step. I then finally realized that this was not a keeper and I don't really know why but it was definitely something that made me have second thoughts. I dropped him and have had no regrets about it, he just wasn't worth it to me anyway...'nuff said! :VEHI:

I don't have it myself, but I'd love to! If I'm ever lucky enough to see him, it's buy on sight. :)

For me, he's total nostalgia goggles. He reminds me a lot of g2's Manta Ray, one of my favorite toys from when I was a kid, and one I was lucky enough to dredge out of storage complete when I got into collecting. :) I really dig the undersling Gatling guns, as well.

The super-mode head is pretty hilarious on a giant robot, but it's just quirky enough to look good, and Waterlog, his minicon, looks pretty slick too.

Hm, anybody think a bioshock-themed custom job would be interesting? If so, which limbs would be best, I wonder..

My local Zellers had a few PCC left at only 10$+taxes. It's their only TFs that are reasonably priced.
DOTM deluxes: 18$+taxes, GEN deluxes: 20$+taxes, RID Deluxes: 25$+taxes!!!

Anyway, there were two that were looking way better than what I usually see in PCC. So I picked two Heavytreads and two Undertows. One to open, and one for my MOC collection. Both figures were suprisingly good. Their minicons too. Bombshock have a rival with Heavytread and boatformers are rare.

Then, I saw that both of them are selling for around 30$+shipping each on Ebay... wut?

I'm one of the few collectors that actually liked the PCC line. Something about those little buggers really did it for me. As for Undertow, he's definitely one of the better figures in that line. I'm not too keen on his minicon partner, but I really like his boat and bot modes. As a previous poster stated, he really seems to be an homage to G2 Manta Ray (aside from being a Decepticon and all). The colors aren't the greatest, but you've just got to love the mold itself. Plus, the torso mode has a deep sea diver helmet. A DEEP SEA DIVER HELMET! Aside from Octopunch's Pretender shell, I don't think there are any other TF's out there with a deep sea diver helmet.

picking the 2packs up on clearance, I regretted ignoring the line because of the awful gestalt modes. Undertow is a great toy. Nicely poseable robot mode, cool vehicle mode and the transformation, whilst not overly complex, is nice. It's also possible to mistranform him so that he uses the diver helmet head (and you can pop off the arms and swap them about so that his hands are the right way around if you want. In fact, if I was confident in my customising skills, this would be the base for my Classics Octopunch.

As far as PCC Commanders go, he's one of my favorites for alt mode AND robot mode.

You're making the right decision, Blurrz. Definitely one of the better PCC figures, what with the wicked gatling guns and the cool targetmaster-style minicon. The only bummer I can think of is the fact that there are no nautical drones to attach to him. Kind of stupid to attach planes or tanks to a boat themed combiner.

I suppose the kiddies could pretend that Bombshock is a pussy around water and lets Undertow borrow his drones for underwater missions.

Lol!

If the line had continued there likely would have been a large set with another seagoing commander and four nautical drones to interchange, much like Steamhammer's drones working well with Sledge's construction theme. Ah, what coulda been....

definitely would recommend, especially under 10 bucks
one of the better PCC toys
showed a good maturity for an end of the line figure compared to some of the first wave of PCCs in both size classes

You made a great decision there. Undertow is my favorite PCC figure I have ( 2pack wise nothing beats a Dino combiner) and I have all the molds and some of the repaints. He looks good with the limbs from the huffer repaint since the colors somewhat match. Now. All we need are some boat limbs. (hint hint TFC ;) )
