Any Energon figures worth backtracking for?

Since beast wars, the only main TF line I hadn't stayed on top of was Energon. I got downshift and a arcee but nothing else really. I don't regret it, but maybe I should. Are there any Energon figures worth going back and getting while they're still cheap?
Maybe a list of 5 energon figures you own and like would help.
Thanks!

Energon Galvatron
Shockblast
Mirage
Inferno
Rodimus
Out of the ones I had, these 5, plus a few others, remained in my collection. I also have Downshift and Arcee, but since you mentioned those I left them out. I also own Towline and the bird terrocon (I forget the name at the moment). Anyway, that grouping makes for a good match of Autobots vs Decepticons.

I'll second Tidalwave.
The Combiners. Superion Maximus is probably the weekest combined form but the individual bots are great. The others look better combined.

1) Sixshot/Shockblast(both are great, though most fans would prefer the Shockblast colors)
2) Rodimus - Great homage to G1.
3) Mirage - One of the slickest looking boatformers ever.
4) Ironhide - If you get him, he looks better if you flip out his legs like they would in the link mode. I love this one.
5) Omega Supreme - Probably not a lot of people would agree with me on this one, but I love this guy. And he looks WAY better in Omega Sentinel colors.

1. Shockblast

3. Jetfire
and if you liked Omnicons
4. Strongarm
5. Signal Flare
those were all very good toys to me.

Mirage - Nice articulation and looks.
Divebomb - Very nice mechanical bird. I also have the Japanese limited edition repaint which even is better!
Shockblast - Vehicle mode is silly, but the bot mode compensates that.

I've got pretty much the entire line. My favourites are Mirage/Dreadwing, Galvatron, and Starscream G1 redeco.

Galvatron is good simply for his resemblence to g1 Galvatron. His articulation isn't great and he has a very simplistic transformation. plus the whole tank/sword thing is pretty useless.... but he looks like G1 Galavtron
Dreadwing is pretty much great all-around.
Nice Alt. Nice robot mode. good articulation.
does suffer from some balance issues but they're minor.
Plus his paint job is infinitly superior to Mirages.
DO NOT get
Prime or
Wingsaber unless you get the other. They only look good combined.
Tidal Wave is good if you liked the Armada version but hated the paint job.

Cheap?
er, not for long. Several Energon figures are already seeing dramatic climbs in their prices.
However, you can't get through your bar mitzvah unless you own the following 5 Energon figures:
1) Galvatron (US release only)
Remember when Takara did everything better than Hasbro? That ended forever with this toy.
2) Omega Sentinel
A beautiful big figure. Detailed, painted, imposing, and a character that had never seen toy form before.
3) Quickstrike
Superior detailing and paint, awesome color scheme, retains Japanese rescue markings.
4) Landquake
Cut from the same cloth as Quickstrike, same release wave, I don't know what was happening at Hasbro at the time, but this figure is out standing.
5) Mirage/Dreadwing
Modern Cyclonus and Scourge. Some wobbly bits and Mirage will almost certainly have weak legs, but the transformation is unique, interesting, and fun.
You can probably find the Japanese version of Mirage cheaper than the US release.

1. ShockBlast...best Shockwave Homage to Date.
2. WingSaber...yea, he's a brick, but it's Star Saber!
3. SkyBlast...probably the best basic of all time.
4. TRU Prime and Megatron Two-Pack...two Japanese exclusive figure.
5. A combiner...I'd probably just get the Classics Constructicon set, but you definitely need one of the combiners.

Just thought I'd mention Bulkhead, since no one has, he's a cool Springer homage.

Shockblast (if you are a G1 Shockwave fan).
Skorponok ( Although the I like the Cybertron color scheme better)
Overload, or his repaint Ultra Magnus. (he's a brick, but a fun brick with many possibilities.
Rodimus
Towline
I would only recommend StrongArm or Skyblast from the Omnibots.
(And since they'll be coming out as Sector 7 repaints, they'll be easier to find and cheaper)
Many people hate fatimus Prime, but i'm pretty keen on him, So he looks like something out of a Power Rangers Episode, but his combination is solid. and doesn't look bad. Some uniformity of colors on his combiner limbs wold have helped but he is not a bad figure.
Also if you like combiners any of the 3 teams can work. But I strongly suggest you stay away from Storm Jet, he just doesn't stay together well in combined mode. His torso is to weak to handle the added wait of the limbs.

I'd recommend Landmine/Landquake and Bulkhead\Quickstrike. The K-Mart exclusive Prowl/Rodimus SWAT two pack is pretty good too.

Thanks for the help guys. Right now there's a misb energon mirage on ebay for $5 with only a few hours left, but I think I'll go for dreadwing instead, his paint scheme looks a lot nicer.
I'll also try to get tidal wave, but I like the armada version more.

Okay:
Smaller figures:
Starscream
Inferno
Strongarm
Downshift
Sharkticon
Prowl
Tow-Line
Rodimus
larger figures:
Scorponok
Galvatron
Tidal Wave
Mirage
Shockblast/Sixshot
Ironhide
Bruticus Maximus
Landquake
Some are getting very hard to find, but others (like Ironhide) are fairly easy to find loose in ebay auctions.

Landmine/Landquake
The Energon Ultras were pretty cool and this mold is executed extremely well. The sound gimmicks don't interfere with articulation and his brute mode looks imposing and powerful. Landquake is a straight repaint of Landmine so choose which ever you like best.
Bulkhead/Quickstrike
The other Energon Ultra, this figure has a great helicopter mode, sound effect gimmicks are contained in the drone so he is also very posable. The brute mode of this figure is not as great as Landmine/Landquakes though. Both figures look better seperated. Again Quickstrike is a straight repaint so which ever color scheme you prefer.
Skyblast
This little Omnicon is very cool. Great looking vehicle mode, robot mode resembles G1 "Skyfire" from the cartoon is a big plus, and has some of the best Energon weapons of any Omnicon or Terrorcon. Only drawback is lack of knee joints due to transformation, but a small price to pay for a really good figure. Also being released soon as a S7 Target exclusive TF movie tie in.
Inferno/Roadblock
Probably the best of the Deluxe Autobot combiners, has a very nicely detailed vehicle mode and a great robot mode that is pretty porportionate to the rest of his body and is not as affected by the Powerlinx port like some of the other Autobots. Roadblock isn't a straight repaint of Inferno. While they share the same body, Roadblock has a remolded Head, arm cannon/crane, front bumper and side panels.
Bruticus Maximus
I'm cheating here because there are really five figures needed to make this combiner, but all of the component figures are very well done. Kickback/Blight is one of my favorite figures. The tank mode is nicely sculpted and the robot mode is very articulated allowing you to make some pretty neat poses. Blackout/Stormcloud has a great helicopter mode that is nicely detailed and hides all of the robot bits well. The robot is also nicely detailed. Finally the leader, Barricade is probably the best of the three Energon Combiner bosses that has an alt mode that hides robot bits well and has a solid looking robot mode that is well articulated. In combined form he is a bit more stable than the other two and IMO looks the best.

I like Quickstrike, he's a homage to G1 Blades.
Jetfire is a great toy and very solid.
Downshift is Wheeljack Reborn.
Divebomb is just plain cool to play with.
