Got shafted by a Amazon seller..

Was shopping around on Amazon for some TF's, and came across Classics Grimlock.. Now i know its not the best figure around, but iv always loved ole Grimmy, and wanted one for my collection..

The item was described as "like new, only transformed once, then stored".. Iv bought used figures before with much success, So i figures why not, $32 wasent too bad a price, so i bought it.. What a surprize i got when the package arrived..

First of all, the figure was not even in a box, she shipped him with his package, but the "molded insert" that the figure sits in inside the package was not there, just the clear cover, she just shoved him and his accessorys in there all lose, then wrapped his package in freakin PAPER! So no doubt poor Grimmy was getting all knocked around in there with the rest of his things during his trip down, not to mention the package was all beat to hell by the time it got too me, sure thats the postmans fault, but it wouldent have been an issue if she had shipped it right to begin with. You DON'T wrap collectibles in a peice of freakin paper!!!

Anyway, i opened it up to check him out, and luckyly everything was still there, none of his stuff fell out of the holes in the paper.. Then i got Grimmy out, and started to check him out.. She decribed him as "like new" "only transformed once!"... Well that was just a bold face lie.. His joints are so loose that he cant even hold his sword in his arm without the weight of it bringing his arm right down. EVERYTHING on him is very loose.. Also the toy had major signs of play wear.. His body was just covered in black grimy stuff, obviously skin oil from people playing with him alot.. Plus his little "heat sticker" was all crinkled up, and had dirt and hair all over the sticky side, so it doesnt really stick to him much anymore, obviously had been removed at some point, then just stuck back on.. I emailed her with my complaints, and she gave me this pathetic excuse.

"sorry but i ran out of boxes, so i just wrapped it, figured it would be ok".. Gee Really? Does the dumb girl not realize that the post office she took the toy too HAS BOXES AVAILABLE??? Moron! Then i emailed her back and asked her how she could possibly have advertised this toy as "like new" & "only transformed once" When there are OBIVIOUS evidence that this toy had been played with heavly.. Her excuse was "Sorry, im a mother of 3, and trying to pay off student loans, and dont have time to thoroughly check every item".. Holy crap is she serious? Plus she mentioned 3 kids, so at least i know who the hell was playing with poor Grimmy! She did offer me a refund, but i told her why the hell should i waste my time and money to ship this thing back too you, so you can put it back up for sale for the next sucker to come along? Sorry but no, all you get is a hugh negative review!

So ill take a tooth brush and try to clean all the dirt and grime off poor Grimmy. And see if i can get his joints tighted back up some.. Oh well, live and learn..

Just thought id share, and becarfull TF shopping out there!

Well, if it's any consolation, I bought my Classics Grimlock from TRU a few years ago and he was loose as hell when I got him out of his package. I'm not sure if it's a common problem with the mold, though.

Regarding everything else, that kinda sucks, but from what you've described, it shouldn't be to hard to fix. Though, as another poster commented, it's not very difficult to find an MOSC Classics Grimlock for about 30 to 35 bucks. I've seen them go loose (but in good condition WITH pictures to prove it) for 15-20 dollars. That's why you need to shop around dude.

Too bad, man. The world's full of lazy people who will rip you off and not care one bit. Or indeed, justify it.

Take the high ground, clean the figure, and enjoy it knowing that you're honest. ^_^

Idiot sellers who pack their items wrong are everywhere.

Some of my notable example from Ebay sellers:

Buy a MOC Rescue Bot Optimus Prime. That retarded american just put a little bubble-wrap around the toy... and put the whole thing inside a soft plastic bag-envelope! Sould I tell you that the packaging was ruined? Luckily, OP survived and I was planning to get him out of his packaging anyway, but still...

My fellow Québécois are even more retarded. This bulshit happened TWICE from TWO DIFFERENT SELLERS. One for a Titanium OP, and one for an Optimus Primal.
I bought the toy used but it come with the original box. The seller just put the figure loose inside the original packaging, NO PADDING WHATSOEVER. Then, the packaging get bubble-wraped inside the shipping box. The USED packaging is protected while the toy bouncing around madly inside is not. Somehow, both toys survived without breacking but come on....

Actually, the black grime IS supposed to be there... It's painted on detail. My was store-bought and it had the black weathering detail. Hopefully that made you feel slightly better.

You could ask for a massive discount or threaten bad feedback.

Hmm, just checked mine and you're right! The black grime is painted on detail on my figure as well (most notably around his dinosaur mode's spine and chest cavity). Weird, I never noticed that before...

I look at my shiny grime-free Grimlock and put on my best Henkei smile.

If only for the chrome parts, reminiscent of the original G1 figure.
