I was thinking, I never bought a planet before, why not Cybertron? Is he pretty good? I'm not big on the Cyber key gimmics, but otherwise, he seems kind of neat. Is he worth the $50, or can I get him somewhere cheaper?

He pretty awesome. The batteries are a pain in the ass to put in and the lights and sounds are lame but other than that he's great.

Primus is cool. I have him on display with the Unicron head and the Titanium Ark in flight.
However, not 50 dollars cool. I got mine for $30 for which he is a must have.

$50 is too much maybe $30 to $40. I got mine on clearance for $25. I then got Unicron's head on eBay for $15. So all together $40 is the price I paid.
However, if you have no planet at all, then you need to get Unicron. The best Planet Transformer. He's better than Primus IMHO.

Yea...I mean, if you like Transformers, how could you not like Primus?
It's one of the best looking and best transforming toys in the past few years.

Primus is pretty good. Transformation is fairly basis but he's a ball, what can you expect. He has an extreme level of detail though, I love the fact that you can see all the cities and I think there is a crashed meteorite also.
Plus, he rolls slightly better than Unicron.

Awesome Fig.I got him for 30. so it was a pretty good price.
He is outstandingly detailed. The Cyber Key gimmick is limited to his forearm guns, and doesn't really affect the toy one way or another.
The Transformation is very slick, if very basic. As was said he is a ball.
He does have 4 little feet to stand on in Planet mode, so he doesn't role off the shelf. But they are easily removable via a screw.
His battery compartment is not that hard to get to, located to one side of his waist. You do need a fine Phillips screwdriver to get it open though.
He's got a few minicon hard points. nowhere near as many as Unicron. His Omega Lock is pretty Good, and is required for transformation, so don't loose it.
I really like him, he is my first planet former and I just find him outstanding in every way. His detailing is of the charts. Cities, valleys, craters etc...
He looks pretty imposing holding Metroplex's Saw Weapon, and my little Eiffel Tower key chain in his hand. Its just about the right scale.

Isn't that spot Kaon, the Deceptionc captial?
(I don't know, it's a genuine question...)

It may very well be. I'm not up on all that stuff.

He's one that I have been trying to get, but never quite get around too. Once the movie hype dies down, and prices drop, he's mine.
Although a description or map of all of the "sights" oh his planet mode would me nice.

Yeah, he's been on clearance for awhile practically everywhere.
He's alright, I'm just not that into huge transformers. My MPs are my biggest, unless you count Omega Prime.

Primus is awesome, but I think Armada/Energon Unicron is better than him.
If you're buying him don't be dissapointed that the first transformation will take about half an hour!

Unicron took me 10 mins and Primus took me 5 mins.
And I never (excluding MP Megs) use a manual.
So were's the big deal with transforming him?

I like, I only paid 30 for mine on clearance from wal-mart around the first of the year. If you are anywhere near louisville, KY I saw buttloads at the toys r us's around there, I even found some with the head collecting dust at various K-marts on clearance. Defineatly one of the most intricately sculpted transformers ever and an important piece to the mythos.

I'm nowhere near Kentucky. I'm on the west coast, and I don't see him anywhere. My only option is ebay I guess.

Well for me Armada Unicron was the first ever of it's kind, and most of the time it was pretty hard to transform it. Then again I was a pretty young age.

Primus is well worth obtaining, he is a nice large Transformer who doesn't look as simple and boring as Supreme Starscream.
His transformation is nice and well thought out, he is incredibly detailed, and as plenty of little extra's to fiddle around with.
Plus he is one of so fe larger Transformers that does not try to commit suicide by jumping off shelves. Always a Plus in my book.

He was worth the $50 in my mind. I just love the fact that he actually feels like he's worth the money. The fella is heavy. And I love all the little planet details on his outer crust.

Excellent catch, that ! Allow me to take the liberty of envying you. And your son, maybe.
