G1 Long Haul Grill

Does anyone know why so many of the long Hauls don't have the cut out in his front grill? When I was a kid I remember having to return long hauls because he didn't have the hole. After a while I figured that the pictures were the mistake not the toy. So I cut one where the plastic formed the same shape. Then last weekend at a yard sale I bought a box of TF's and inside was a correct Long Haul. Even the ones I bought as scrap on Ebay all had solid grills.

:-?

There's no "correct" version of G1 Long Haul as both the version with the solid grill as the one with the slot are considered genuine variants. The solid grilled version of the mold is the favoured one it seems, the G2 and Encore releases had exactly that.
