All these extra (useless?) parts of Transmetal Terrorsaur

Greetings all :)

I was hoping someone could shed some light.

I have a Transmetal Terrorsaur and the mold has several points of articulation/transformation which are never used for any of his modes (at least according to his instructions and all the reviews I've been able to find).

First off, there's the pieces that contain the ball joint which join his arms to his torso. The piece the ball joint is on is actually on a hinge which can rotate back for no apparent reason.

Second is the piece of his torso that those connect to. It rotates, though it doesn't need to do this for any of his 3 modes. It even has little bumps on the plastic it's connected to indicating that it is to be rotated in each direction respectively and then lock into place on those small bumps.

Then there's the obvious fact that the panels that cover his turbines/boosters on the back/bottom of the figure can only be fully opened in robot mode, which would indicate that perhaps those torso panels need to be rotated out of the way in order to fully expose those turbines/boosters when in the 'third mode' (the crappy jet mode), but that doesn't quite work either.

I'm just wondering if these extra points of articulation/transformation have any real use or if they're just leftovers from some mysterious incomplete third mode like Tigerhawk had.

Does anyone know or has anyone seen any fanmodes created using Transmetal Terrorsaur's extra bits of transformation that looked plausible?

I was playing around with this guy a few months back. I did come up
with some extra modes. They are nothing spectacular but should be tried out in person to really enjoy them

Sweet, thanks for posting :D!

I found some modes similar to those you posted above as well. I also notice (as you seem to have) that his rear section appears to be a cockpit of sorts.

I also found several neat configurations with the wings that if you turn the figure backwards like that, it makes for a pretty convincing jet/space fighter of some kind.

I even found a mode (with his beast mode head being the front) that looks a lot like the shape of the Universe Ratbat figure (can't remember the name of the original mold before it got repainted into Ratbat).

Overall a fun toy, I just wish they'd have executed whatever it was they were shooting for with all those extra points of articulation/transformation. There seems to be a lot of promise with that figure that they didn't deliver on, almost as though it's unfinished.

Still a great figure though, and I'm happy to own him.
