Alfes 2010 has also posted a gallery of Takara's Gari Robo-kun crossover figures. The figures are based on Garigari-kun, the mascot for the Akagi Nyugyo Corporation who produces Gari-Gari-kun Popsicles. Images mirrored below, full gallery here.

While I LOVE the fact that they come wrapped in an ice-cream wrapper; I honestly can't say that I like the figures at all. As transformers: meh. As Japanese icon: ok-acceptalbe. I'll safely say that I'll pass (although I love the use of translucent plastic to mimic the ice cream look!)

The novelty factor is pretty cool, the fact that it turns into an ice cream bar, with the stick as a sword and shield in bot mode, and another tiny ice cream bar, the use of translucent plastic for ice cream, and the wrapper and packaging. But it's just too weird to join my collection. If it turned into a more normal-looking transformer I'd be totally into it.

It's totally out of scale with Skids and Mudflap though. :( Why Takasbromy, why?!

lol whenever i see pictures of that Gari Gari kid i cnt help but laugh at his oversized mouth. Makes me wonder if anyone can check if one the toys while transformed into its ice cream form can fit in the entire width of his mouth?

well, since the mouth is contained within the shell of the ice cream mode, I'd consider it highly unlikely.

you got it wrong :HEADHURTS: MY idea is to use one figure a in ice cream mode, and use it on second figure b in gari gari mode and see if figure a's ice cream is wide enough to look like the second one can look like he's eating it.
