Our old friend Alfes 2010 has updated his toy blog with images of Minelba from CM's Corp. The figure comes with multiple faces and hands, two hair styles, helmet, display stand, and removable Transtector face. CM's Corp will also be releasing Ginrai in this style.

We've mirrored some of his images below, full galleries can be found at the following:

As someone who collects Japanese articulated figures, she did not come out very well at all. :/

So CM Corp is basically a "2nd Party" company ?

In other words, it's an outside company that somehow managed to obtain a Takara license ? How does a company obtain this rare status ???

I don't know a lot about these types of figures, what are the problems?

Will you actually stay to read the answer? In short, they requested it, and made a deal with TakaraTomy. They can, because it's an area TakaraTomy lacks experience in.

Thick paint, exposed screws, flashing on the molded plastic, blob hair, misaligned tampograph, flesh tone on face differs from other body parts (neck), and some weak overall articulation.

Compare to a figure costing half or less than half: (thumbnail used b/c this thread is about Minerva, just click it)

I collect them myself and I don't see much wrong with her, from these pics it looks like she does what she's supposed to do.

I actually like how they've incorporated all the elements of her Headmaster self, even though it's not a transforming figure.

I still can't get over manga/anime style faces though.
(Plus, I don't collect figures apart from TFs!)

Happens all the time actually, just cause third party dudes don't do it doesn't mean it ain't a common practice.

Yeah, X, who do you think makes all those official non-main toyline Transformers products? For example, the Revoltech figures are made by Kaiyodo, who, like CM Corp, acquired the license by Takara.

Bleh, Figmas are better and cheaper. $100+ for this is just a tad too much.

So either a Takara/Tomy license is very expensive or they are very selective about who they conduct business with. Which would you guess ???

Probably a bit of both.

A bit of both. TakaraTomy gets a share of the profits made, that's something. Also, licenses are usually given to companies in fields TakaraTomy isn't that active and/or specialised in. So, companies that made full transforming robot figures can't count on one.

I'm really looking forward to having this figure alongside my original G1 Minerva figure. I would have preferred it to have been smaller ... like a 3.75" figure, but I'll gladly take one of these. Guess the SCF figures would be more in scale anyway to G1 Minerva.

Hmm, not too sure about this. I recently got into Figmas and compared to them this seriously lacks detail and articulation. Also, why is her head so large? It is like 1.5 times larger than it should be. Maybe it's the bad shiny plastic hair because it doesn't look as bad with the helmet. For $100 I would expect better.

Usually CMs figs come out great.......for actual female figures. That battle armor/exo suit of Minerva kind of, well, removes her cuteness unless they also plan to release a civilian version of her.

As what party made her, 1st,2nd , should that matter? Its an official product. Like the ones CMs released.....the Dai Atlas static figs.

@Blurrz

Yeah! figmas are waaaaaaaaay cuter, and cheaper. But sturdier? More or less the same in quality and strength.

A nice looking female android figure imho would be............surprise, surprise, Bandai's Soul of Chogokin line. Their Miku Hatsune and Aegis all came out great? (With a working rocket punch to boot) (The Miku version was co produced by Goodsmile so the figma component was probably incorporated into it).

I can't wait for mine to arrive (another 20 days of waiting  )

Im not exactly sure I believe Takara couldnt make non-transformable figures. Now if Takara cant handle something that simple, It's "officially" time for them to throw in the towel. I think Takara's selective choice of business partners is more personal than profit. I dont sea much sense in that kind of sillyness. But hey, some things will never change.

All I can say is this ,I am a big fan of Minerva :BOT: :x ,and I have been wanting this figure .I have it ordered and I can't wait for it to come =P~ .But I do have to agree with the ones that brought up the quality and price :ic$: .Since I love  female characters ,I have many figures from Japan ,and this one really does not stand up to them .I have an awesome Asuka from Evangelion the Revoltech series, that is half the price of Minerva ,that ...well is more detailed . I could go on ,but it has been said already .Was she overpriced ....yes  ,do I care ...well it is her price ,what can I do ,not buy her I guess . :-( But I still really like her so that is that . :DANCE:If you are not a big fan ,then I say don't get her ,if you are ,and are happy with the look of the figure ,GO FOR IT !!! That is all .

Tomy Takara not only makes TFs. To think otherwise shows a complete ignorance of the company. Google their website and you will see all sort of products they have under their sleeves. >:oP

@ Michael

Nice collage of Marrisa..........so kawaii it makes me want to eat her. :x
And you put the words right out of my mouth. Don't like her, don't get her and quit trolling the topic.

As for her being overpriced, CMs "Cute Figure" series is price ranged that way, they're taller than your figma/revoltech figs.

Basically they're Hasbro's Japanese counterpart in all aspects :P I know for certain however, TakaraTomy does not do high-end collectable figures in the same vein as S.H. Figuarts, S.I.C., etc., which leads to this Minerva.

Not poseable ones, except for their Microman line. That's for sure. Daiki Kougyo, a subsidiary of theirs do high end static anime figures (pardon the pun with "do")
