Well, that is the reissue of G1 Ultra Magnus from 1986. However, I don't recall him coming with Hot Rod (whom is the sports car in the carrier). Did you find this at a store or on eBay?

It doesnt have hot rod and I'm sure I've never heard of such..

You can get both orginal and boxed for that price.

Hot Rod appears to be twist-tied onto Magnus's trailer, but I can't find any information about a Commemorative Ultra Magnus that came with Hot Rod like that. In fact the only bundle I know of is the Insecticon 3-pack. So what you've got is someone who bought Magnus, strapped Hot Rod in, and returned him to the store. I can't fathom why anybody would do this, but there you go.

I'm also very curious. Has the factory tape been altered in anyway that would suggest tampering?

I was collecting when these came out and am fairly certain that *didn't* happen.

I agree, Hasbro has never been that cheap (in a good way) with reissues. Trust me, the seller's pulling your leg.

That and the box would have "value bundle" or similar all over the packaging like the Black Friday specials.

It wasn't. I tried convincing him it was fake but he thought I was trying
