Looks a little weird like maybe it's a KO or a reissue.

Pulsating Light AM Radio (Nasta, 1986)

Pulsating Light AM Radio is a 7.5" tall AM radio in the shape of Ultra Magnus's head, produced by Nasta. It takes 4 AA batteries to make him sing (two in each antenna), but when he does, his eyes and forehead light up.
The head of Ultra Magnus could be yours for just $12.99.

Not gonna lie, friend, how did the fact that it's goddamn gigantic not tip you off to something weird? xD It would have been a good thing to mention in the first post at least, rather than letting us assume it's the head accessory from a G1 Magnus. :HEADHURTS: No clue how much it's worth (if anything), I'll leave that up to you now that you know what it is. :P

if you like it, then it's not worthless.

asking for help with something without stating basic info which, it seems, you'd already realised? that's getting close.

Looks like a nice piece to have. Are the guts still in it and does the radio work? Otherwise you could put some LED's in it and put on your collection shelf :)

looks like everything is there except the rear panels of his "ears" unfortunatly I don't think that it can work with out those panels, considering they hold the batteries in place.

I agree, it's looks nice to me!

I'm sure youould rig up something with duct tape to fix it. It looks like it'd make a good shelf piece, its certianly different. :) I know there are a few UM collectors around here, might wanna ask them of they'd be interested if you want to sell it.

About seven and a half inches tall at the top of the antennae.

I have one too, got it for 5 buck back then. Both the radio and music worked fine until I decided to clean the battery compartment. It doesn't worth much other than for die hard UMagnus fans like myself. In term of rarity, I think it's getting there. For now, you see them pop on ebay every few months.

Anyhow, here are scale comparison pics from my Review Page:
