Ultra Magnus and Galvatron repaints

Is it me or has it been Hasbro policy lately to continually reissue repaints of optimus prime in Ultra Magnus format, or Megatron as a Galvatron repaint?
I feel i have the right to be mad about this type of shameless and cheap money making gimmick that seems to flood in every time a new Megatron is crowned or a new Prime mold is released!!!
With the exception of the G-1 Mold with the huge and non articulated armor, and that of RID/Car Robots, Ultra Magnus has not had an original Mold developed!! If you count Energon that was a recolored version of Armada overload...
there is even a War Within repaint!!! come on!! Takara even went in and dropped the ball and repainted the Masterpiece release as a repaint and called it ultra Magnus..
Lets see in the Galvatron Department they haven't done any better, with G-1, and Beast Wars 2, they had original molds..
the RID/Car Robots version was a repaint, Energon was a repaint of Megatron (who looked like Galvatron anyways), Armada was a repaint..Cybertron was a repaint as well!!! geez!!!
When will Ultra Magnus get his just deserts and actually get a mold worthy to call his own?
Galvatron as a reimagined or upgraded Megatron was originally established in generation one..so why the repaints!
I'm just mad about this.. those characters deserve a proper representation in any new Transformers series, and should not be relegated to simply repaint status!!
Come on Takara Tomy, if anyone deserves a fully functional and Accurate Masterpiece its Ultra Magnus and Galvatron, the crap that has been done to them as characters over the years is worth the time to make accurate and unique Molds for them, and for Us Transfans!!!
Why not make a separate figure of each with their own story and their own body.. I hope to God Hasbro doesn't try it with these Movie Figures..Optimus prime is optimus prime!! let him be the only one who holds that mold..!!!
Same with Megatron...!!!
Does anyone else feel this way???

With Takara the FIRST time megatron was repainted as galvatron was galaxy force master galvatron.
Beast Wars Galavtron was a completly new character/mold just like the g1 version.
RiD/Car robots gigatron was upgraded to devil gigatron
Micron legend got a supermold
Superlink was galvatron from his 1st appearance and given the body upgrade made sense.
Really dont like the over use of the naked magnus repaint they keep doing over and over again i grew up with the g1 toon and even tho i had an ultra magnus the mode with armour was the character for me ( i used the cab as primes ghost after seeing him die in the film)

Shameless as it may be, repaints make good business sense for Hasbro/Takara, twice(or more) the income for only one mold. Upset as you may be, some people actually enjoy repaints (I see you enjoy Skywarp, a repainted character as well)
But your claim does have merit, the Masterpiece line was supposed to be the best, but with the release of Ultra Magnus and Skywarp along the way, it's just another opportunity to make money the tried and tested way. The chances of a proper Magnus trailer and a Galvatron to come out will be slim, since the demand for them isn't high enough in Japan.

Unfortunately if you look at most Hasbro figures, everything is repainted. For example, the Universe line were all repaints, spanning across most lines. Cybertron series had repaints/remolds from mostly Armada and Energon. Even Energon and Armada had their own repaints in their lines(Jetfire/Overcast and Optimus Prime/Nemesis Prime). And don't even talk about Mini-cons, as they've been repainted so many times.
I guess you can complain about Ultra Magnus and Galvatron not getting their own molds, but really it's happened to many. Look at Thundercracker and Skywarp. Do you think they've had their own molds? Heck, no, for most series Thundercracker, Skywarp, and pretty much the whole seeker bunch have been remolds and repaints of Starscream!
A sad thing is though is that Ultra Magnus doesn't really have his own mold. Even in Energon, he didn't take Prime's mold, but instead he took Armada Overload. And when it comes to Galvatron, he can't really look any different than Galvatron, eh?
This little gimic is allowing Hasbro/Takara to make a boat load of money. I won't be surprised if I see a Skywarp, Galvatron and Ultra Magnus in the movie line.

yeah but there is a difference from establishing a character from the get go and a repainted Seeker VS a shotty upgrade.. I don't know, but I always wished that ultra Magnus got his day in plastic, the correct way!!!
This guy did a great job trying to recreate a Masterpiece with his custom armor, my point, if it can be done there it should have been done the first time around!!!

this guy really needs his armor, and the correct proportions too..

there are items we expet repaints on, like for instance Seekers, or transformers universe toy line, but as far as Galvatron and ultra Magnus are concerned.. i just really think they should have their own molds and not be subjected to always being Optimus and Megatron's repaint lackeys.. I have a great deal of respect for those characters but they really need to create unique molds for any future versions of those characters, and not rehash the optimus and Megatron thing..
them making a boat load of cash doesn't help me any...

I agree!!!
Nah, just kidding.
Of course it helps you for Hasbro and Tomy-Takara to make profit.
You like Transformers? Good. Those companies have to make money to keep providing you with those Transformers.

they make profits regardless...its the new molds i want to see, and seeing as how they are taking existing molds more frequently and making variant color versions just seems to me as if thy have more then enough profit to go around.. I'm not asking for much, just that those 2 characters be given a proper incarnation and not a rehashed repainted version of an existing mold..
They make enough of a profit on every toy sold..in the regular lines..the repaints just gives out their company bonuses..which I'm all for, except when it comes to them doing tons and tons of repaints..
that hurts my pockets and doesn't make me, a consumer, happy..and it shows a lack of effort on their part to really do something special with those names instead of slapping a new paint scheme on it..
I wouldn't expect you to understand, you have probably set aside a considerable amount of cash for Botcon repaints, and haven't thought twice about it..

Surprisingly, I sire off children to working business women who don't have time to date, yet still want a kid. That pays for more than you can
imagine.
At any rate, it doesn't have to hurt your pockets, because you don't have to buy those characters or toys.
Magnus hasn't been relevant since RiD and Galvatron, well, if you aren't happy with the choice, don't get him.
I'd love a big, burly, and finally worthy Ultra Magnus toy as well. I refuse to buy MP Magnus because he's more POS than he is MP. So, I agree with your stance, but not with your inability to see the business and common sense approach to why toy manufacturers do this.
It's not a personal affront to you, it's business.

Think of it though. We've all known Galvatron as being Megatron but in different colours due to the many tv series. Then we also know Ultra Magnus as usually being Optimus's twin brother. So in my opinion, the repaints are very much justified.

no I understand the business reasons as to why they do it.. I just think its still wrong and kinda lazy...especially when those characters could really be great..

Hate me if you want, but I love white prime repaints (full armor would be better, I agree)
I love my MP Magnus.

I never said it was a bad repaint..just its not anythign new, and it gets old after seeing it done over and over and over again...
Plus Ultra magnus hasn't really had a real new unique body since RID, the others were just rehashed repaints..so lets give ultra Magnus a new interpretation either in the Transformers Movie sequel, or in the new horrid "Animated" cartoon.. or some other line down the road, but leave the repaints of him and Galvatron behind..just for awhile atleast!!!
