Armada Prime's Light

I'm sure this has been discussed a few times, but seeing as I was in Elementary school when he came out, I never went online to check. The light inside Armada Optimus, that can be seen through the window....does that work? On any of them? Because in the three I've owned, and the two my cousin owns, none of them do anything. When pressing that Autobot symbol, nothing happens. The hand light for his super mode's gun works fine, as well as the trailer, but not that cab light. Is this a known defect on all of them? I've never seen it be mentioned in any reviews, or shown on the galleries. I just wanna see it light up.. :-(

i too am ver curious. i have had the toy for about 10-11 years and still don't know what it is. i thought it was an infered light kinda like in a remote for your TV to activate his trailer gimmick.

I'm fairly certain that is indeed the IR device that tells the trailer what to do.

The chest button just activates a pulsing sound effect(and if you own the Japanese version (which I do) adds a Japanese phrase like ready for action............) by pushing down a peg on his "Super pants" connection button. The gray button on the right light ups his fist while transforming him(with the batteries on activated the trailer transform mode(the light bulb in the cab kind of functions like the signal emitter for the gimmick). Well, in theory, the signal transmitted does light up but you can't see it in the normal light spectrum.

Yes, the light bulb inside the cab is the infrared emitter. If the trailer self transforms when you transform the cab, then the emitter is working fine. The cab uses button cell batteries which are included with the toy. The 4 triple A batteries are not.

Its not a light the human eye can actually see. I'm sure your pet snake can see it fine though.

Except for the light in his right fist, activated by the gray button on his shoulder, all other light and sound gimmicks are housed in his trailer.

The huge Autobot symbol on top of the cab has no light gimmick, it merely as was pointed out extends a tiny tab that presses a button on the trailer when they are combined to activate a sound and release the Super mode head in most cases.
