Actually MSRP is $99.99
TRU is selling it for the discounted price of $69.99
says so right on the website.

even still better then $79.99 over MSRP on eBay.

When the item was first listed on TRU.com it was 69.99 on sale for $55.00. When I purchased the item at TRU Time Square the price tag on the shelves stated $69.99.

MSRP is on the TRU website.

Technically on the TRU.com's webpage it's "List Price" and not MSRP and below is a photo of the price tag in the stores, so go figure...

I would say BBTS gets their supply from TRU directly. (Once a Hasbro item is a store exclusive, you can only get it from that store -I've asked H about this b4). Although BBTS costs more, I recommended them because they double box and ship with care. (At least the last MP I received was double boxed). Don't feed the scalpers!!!!!!!

If that's the case, it makes it even worse. BBTS probably got their stock at wholesale price point lots lower than the MSRP of $69.99 and yet they mark it up to $100+ and in doing so also take stock away from TRU and TRU.com to be able to offer them to customer at the lower MSRP price. So how is that different than scalping?

It's different because BBTS' supply of the figures will be factored in to what TRU requests/orders from Hasbro. Scalper supplies are not.

so even if that is true, it's ok for BBTS to take a $70 item and mark it up to $100+ but it's not ok for others to do so? I see the double standard there...

They have to factor in re-shipping from TRU to BBTS, overhead for employees to unload and reload, Website costs, Box and packaging costs.

My issue with scalpers was never the price. It's that they generate a false demand by reducing the retail availability of a product, thus preventing other actual consumers from purchasing the product from a valid retail source.

BBTS, regardless of price, is a valid retail source. It's just like the shared exclusive BBTS has with Amazon and the G2 Bruticus set. If BBTS had it marked up 200% of Amazon's price, that's their business, and they have every right to do so, but them getting those figures does not impact the retail availability of the product to the consumer. Scalpers do affect the retail availability of a product to the consumer and are acting as retailers by purchasing products at retail and then turning around and selling it for a profit. This turns TRU's stores in this case, into a supplier/wholesaler, which they are not and allows the scalpers to act like licensed retailers with exclusive stock of a product, again, which they are not (or at least they aren't supposed to be).

I imagine there are costs that these "scalpers" would have to cover as well, like the 10%+ ebay/paypal fees. Look I'm not defending the "scalpers" but in the end both are out to turn a profit which ever way they can so I see no difference in that. So as a consumer I will purchase from who ever offers the best price.

BBTS doesn't raise the price based upon checking "completed listings" on ebay. BBTS is not taking away current retail merchandise and artificially raising prices.

Your telling me, trucking cost + Employee cost, + boxes + Materials + website design + Advertising + sales tax + Needing to make a profit...

Is the same as paying a 7% Paypal fee, a 5% Ebay fee, and the gas in the car? then Artificially raising a 69$ toy to 140$ that's currently at retail outlets, just scarcer because too many damn scalpers are taking them?

Most consumers do not understand business and even if they do, prices is a deciding factor in their purchase and can you really prove that BBTS obtain stock directly from TRU? Neither can I, but I really don't have to. All I have to know is they're selling an item that I purchased from TRU for $69.99 at $109.99.

Didn't you read the prior posts? The MSRP on MP TC is 99.99. It is unknown what TRU paid Hasbro in a bulk deal for them, but BBTS probably isn't paying much less than that. They may have paid close to $100 for all we know. I don't consider BBTS scalpers. Calm down -seriously dude.

Btw, xyl360 made some excellent points in his last post on page 11. Couldn't agree more.

And if ZenPrime wants to talk about frustation - try buying MP TC full price at TRU, only to see it 4 or 5 days later on TRU.com for $15 less + free shipping. I was pissed, but now I'm over it. Especially if it was a mistake, which we still don't know 100% if it was. Some 20% off TF web sale could've been in effect -who knows?

Now I highly doubt that if the MSRP price is actually $100 that all the TRU stores across the country would price the item way below at $70 on their shelves from the start. That doesn't make much business sense does it? It's true that we don't know at what price BBTS obtain their stock for, it stands to reason that for it to be worth it for BBTS they would have to be making a decent profit for each sale. Anyway I'm done with this.

I agree with what ZenPrime has said all above. But I don't blame BBTS, they have every right to price it whatever they want to price. Also they must've looked at market and their price reflects supply and demand. Isn't it true that their preorder is already sold out even at $109.99?
However, I don't believe a bit that BBTS got it at $100. I can bet $100 that they got it below $70 each! As much as i like them, in my opinion, in this particular case, they do act like EBay scalpers.

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAANYWAY, I got mine from TRU today. This looks and stands MUCH better than MP Starscream or Skywarp. The only think I don't like is that the wings won't stay in place if you try to bend them back a bit, like they're supposed to be.

I picked mine up yesterday at my local TRU for $60.00. I had saved a Hasbro coupon I had just for this reason.. Unfortunately I can't share the coupon as it was some Hasbro one time cash coupon I had held onto for MP TC.

I finally snagged one from a local TRU here. Thankfully the guy that answered the phone was my old store manager when I used to work at his store. He gave me one that one of the crooked employees had put on hold.

get this, the Employee had 3 on hold.. 3 out of 4.

Also..

TRU DC for the West Coast is now showing 0 in stock.
That means they are almost out.
