I feel a little better since I missed the pre-order time window by an hour but I feel even more awful Toys R Us did this to the people that did pre-order. I hope the company makes good out of this or at least releases more widespread quantities of the figure. Come on TRU get your poop together.

Definitely some crappy news. I've seen that several people have passed up MOP from brick and mortar since they were awaiting a preorder. What a mess.

Nobody tell ebay about this!

I'm curious if any of the scalpers that ordered and listed will be hit by this. I saw several listings that said "I'm scheduled to get the item after Oct 15th and will send to you directly after I receive it." I feel bad for the buyer in that case, but here's to negative feedback on money grubbers.

got this figure 2 days ago at my local TRU for $87 (20% off). Didn't like the figure so I sold it at Ebay for $95 + shipping sealed

I just got off the phone with the site's customer service (800.869.7787, fyi) and the rep said that they're expecting another shipment on 10/21 and another on 11/4. She said to expect my item to go out between those two dates.

My guess/hope/desperate wish is that the 10/15 stock went to the brink and mortar stores and the pre-orders will still be fulfilled, just a bit later.

I hate to be that guy but...

I read that whole thread, and no one has shown one iota of evidence that the Pre-orders have been canceled. Just people calling TRU to bitch about it not being processed on the 15th.

Then one person says "he talked to someone, who said they aren't getting any"

Then another one claims he got a refund, even though all Pre-orders done through paypal just had a temporary hold to ensure the funds were available.

something smells like Fandom angst.

Do not cancel your orders, just relax.

Okay, I just called the TRU customer service line (800-869-7787). I told the rep what I had read about order cancellations and he checked on the item number and said they are still currently listed as backordered but are expected to arrive and should be shipping tomorrow or Thursday. So until I get an email from TRU confirming something one way or another I am going to hold out hope they are just running a little behind and that all will be well in the end.

This makes me happy I was able to pick up 2 a week ago.

I called Toys R Us in Times Square every day for a week... so they decided to put the 2 I wanted aside when they arrived. Factory fresh, unopened carton, too.

It was totally worth the jacked up $115 price tag to avoid all this uncertainty.

Glad to know theres no official cancellations. I preordered minutes after the original post here went live and have been watching my email every day. I will have a seriously heartbroken kid if this gets cancelled.

Isn't it just a little bit irresponsible to post this cancelation scare as "news" on the front page of the website? Delays are par for the course with ToysRUs.com. So is misinformation from customer service reps who have no idea what they're even selling. Why is anybody surprised? We went through this same panic just a few months ago with Masterpiece Thundercracker, and now that figure is available to order for anyone who wants one, not to mention, it is showing up in stock in brick and mortar TRU's all over the country. We're ONE DAY late from the projected release date. Learn from history. You will get your figures. Just be patient.

Regardless, I got lucky and found one at my local TRU today (was going to pick up GDO Dead End and Brawl they were holding for me), so I was able to cancel my preorder right after that. Very glad to have it now rather than wait and wonder.

And the GDO figures ROCK - thanks Hasbro! I might even get the Megatron I deemed ugly because the line is great, and to show Hasbro the demand is there for not just more figures like that, but ones with sensational paint apps (Laserbeak's awesome - and did Hasbro get the Bluestreak trademark back?!). Sorry to thread-jack....

First of all, this is not irresponsible.
Second of all, this is not a scare.
Third of all, it is news.

We had a person send us a report through the email system, plus people over at TFW have posted that their order was canceled by TRU's system. Not all, but a few. The fact that there have been canceled orders, plus some people being told they won't be able to fulfill the outstanding orders, plus shipment dates being moved back to Sundays (which no carrier ships that day). Plus, customer service for one person doesn't know where to find said item, or if it's in their system and the end up having to speak to one of their managers.

If it walks like a duck, talks like a duck, well...

But, to be fair, if it makes people feel better, we'll edit the title of the news article. Fact remains that there is several cases of proof supporting the article's title.

I'll keep waiting until I get an actual phone call or email stating I won't receive mine. However, this news does bring joy in the fact I hope all the scalpers who placed preorders on ebay get negative feedback for not having the item as promised. Maybe that is cold, but I HATE scalpers.

Spent about 4 -5 hours total speaking with customer services, and supervisor after supervisor, spoke with the online departments floor supe, his supe, and further customer relations folks and was told the same over and over. Item is on back order and has been since I believe September 23. They either said they didn't know if they were getting more, or flatly stated they didn't think so. I was then told that back order items that aren't filled 30 days from the date of back order have their pre orders automatically cancelled. I was also explicitly told they did take more orders that items they had available or could confirm they would receive.

Just as heads up, the people saying their preorder was canceled, had that happen weeks ago shortly after the initial preorder option. I haven't heard of anyone get theirs canceled in the last couple days.

And this is directed at no one in particular, but damn! What is up with all the Chicken Little fear?!? When has a TRU exclusive MP NOT been made available at some point online? The site always stocks some. People are freaking out over this because the brick and mortar got some first, but what no one seems to understand is that the stores have entirely different warehouses (distribution centers) than TRU.com and so they can NOT ship from the distribution centers to fill the site's preorders. Once the site's warehouse stock arrives they'll fill them. Does anyone honestly believe that the flagship character's Masterpiece will never make it on their website, as he's coming out at the start of the Christmas season? And how many times have (any stores) customer service been complete idiots and not known what's going on?!? I'm sorry, but until I get a cancelation email or call, I'm not going to panic over being a few days late.

With that said, as I've done from the start, IF I see him in stores, I'll snag him and cancel my preorder. But that was the plan from the start (havig a backup plan is just smart haha)

I stand (slightly) corrected ...

Apparently one person is saying they were canceled today. But they were also informed that it they were one of the last to preorder and that too many preorders were taken compared to the stock that was incoming, so that's why his was canceled ...

Still not enough to warrant a Fandom-wide panic in my opinion. :)

Seriously? If I was part a customer service team and some guy called and was spending 4-5 hours hunting down an answer demanding to talk to supervisor after supervisor I'm pretty sure I would be telling him whatever I thought he wouldn't want to hear too. As for TRU running out of stock, I'm calling BS pure and simple. I guarantee they will have stock to fulfill the orders. Sure there might be a delay right now as they are trying to get all the pre-orders filled but they will fill them eventually. This chicken little crap is lame. I'm willing to bet all the "cancelled" orders are people mad that they either didn't get an order in and completed on time or that actually cancelled their order themselves. Anyone who actually wants this and has an order placed, don't cancel your orders. You'll get it eventually.

I have to agree. Whether or not this is true, I still feel like this is a little premature. If it is true, then we should wait until there is prevalent proof that it is actually happening.

Either way, I bet TRU will rethink the way they handle preorders in the future. I've seen some pretty strong (in a negative way) reactions by folks on here for them being only, what, 1 day behind right now? At a minimum, I'll bet they go way overboard with the anticipated shipping date just to be safe to avoid all of this.

Well no offense but then thank goodness you're not customer service, but the reason I was on so long was trying to get a straight answer, and it wasn't one long call it was several calls thought the day as different supervisors or managers called me back. As I said they stated flatly no orders have been cancelled YET, but they will next week if they haven't gotten a re stock by then., and was told they offer no gaurantee they will be getting more, and that it was likely not bc they showed none incoming. Was also told they took more orders than items available.

What concerns me the most out of all of that, is they refer to it as a "restock". There's yet to be an initial stock, so this leads me to believe even more that the customer service team & supervisors don't fully know what's going on. That's good news for the preorders sadly haha.

Having just spent a few weeks dealing with customer service for a company that was late in shipping out an item I ordered, these guys (customer service reps) tend to lie out their butt just to get people to shut up and leave them alone.

I realize TRU tends not to make sense, but it'd be really stupid if they canceled orders next week. The stated shipping date was this week, not back in September, that's just when the brick-and-mortar stores started seeing them. Which is what leads me to believe they just pulled an answer out to make you go away.

Imagine how many calls they got between yesterday and today.

The guys at the company I just finished dealing with got sick of me after 4 days of calling and that was just me. Not several hundred clients calling over the course of 48 hours.
